Just bought my first MINI

A 2006 R53 with only 23,000 miles. Just found this sight 1 week ago; took 1 test drive in a local MCS last Sunday and bought one tonight over the web after viewing the photos. My wife is freaking out with my long distance purchase.

Looks in great shape and has some nice options: gauges, HK stereo, Xenons, heated seats and sunroof. There may be some upgrades I don't know about yet. The sales rep texted me a shaky video and I saw an exposed, cone shaped air filter, several red cables, red hoses and "ALTA" on some of it. Also has MILLTEK on the Exhaust. Think these are tips or a replacement system?
Tires are Kuhmo 205/45 -17s. Couldn't make out model but hope they aren't run flat and guessing they aren't stock. Also notice this car doesn't have a rear wiper, just a black plate where the stud would stick through the glass. Is this unusual?

I'll be picking up the car on Saturday and have a 450 mile drive to get home; hope to learn more about the car on the way. Thanks to all for sharing on this great site! Looking forward to learning more here about this cool car.

BTW; leaving a 2000 Audi A6 2.7T. Loved that car but it's too old to drop a bunch on another major service (timing chain etc). Hoping I don't miss the quattro in snowy Upstate NY.

Well I'll keep it short and sweet since I just got home from driving this car 400 miles and say WOW; what a blast! Neither the dealer nor I knew what this car had; tight, throaty and peppy. Will fill in more details and try to get some photos soon. Who knew you guys had so much fun everytime you pull out of your driveway!

Not a great day to take pictures of the MINI today. We got about 8-10" of snow and it's a slushy mess. I did find a document the previous owner put together with the mods he had done:
Alta Oil Catch Can
Alta Catalyst w/header
Alta Supercharger pulley ver 2.0
2% oversize crank pulley
Screamin Demon Hi-Po coil pack
Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs
Alta 19mm rear sway bar
Milltek Sport Exhaust system
New injectors modified for high flow rate (400cc/min)
Alta top mount intercooler ver 2.0

I'll be honest; I've never been a modder and don't know what half of this stuff does but this car wakes up and goes when you step on the pedal! Makes some serious whine, cool exhaust note and sticks to the road like glue. Can't wait for this snow to go away so I can push it a little.

I bought this car in Annapolis MD.If you are or know the modder, I've love to know a little more about this car's history.

Sounds like a well equipped MINI, and congrats on finding such a low mileage R53! I've thought about trading in the R50 a few times but can't find anything with mileage nearly as low as my Justa (22,000.)

Happy Motoring!
