New to NAM.
Hello all,
I recently purchased a 2002 MINI Cooper R50 with the intent to use as a commuter vehicle. Unfortunately, (depending on how you look at it) the "bug" has bitten and I am interested in my MINI way more than just an "A to B" vehicle. I have worked in the auto field for 3 yrs and I am currently attending school to better myself at advanced electronic diagnostics. I have had many projects from tuner to muscle and motorcycles. I have quite a bit of information at my disposal and I'm willing to share. I have some concerns with the MINI platform though as far as accessing and testing componets with a "generic" scan tool. At this point I have no viable way to operate or test the onboard electronics. All I can do is pull data, which is nice just not as helpful as I would like. Anyway, I would like to say thank you for setting up a great forum. I did join another forum and I was not very happy with the lay out or how to access information. Oh well I'm here now.

If you look around and seek out some of the performance tuning areas, you will get some insights.
The R50 is tunable and really does rock as a great MINI on the track and twistie driving.
Congratulations and enjoy.
