I'm a new member from MI/FL....

Happy to be a member of this group. A newbie has a question... my "Service Engine Soon" light illuminates for differing periods of time. The gas cap is properly installed. What next? Does it have anything to do with service intervals/maintenance reminder? If so, how do you reset it? I am not close to a dealer. Thanks for your help, Erv

Welcome, from a SW Floridian. What year is the car, model, miles etc? If you scroll through the service menu is there a service due or negative miles upon initial start up?

my car...

My car is an 06 S convert. When I start I get no messages. When I push the computer button I get current mileage, ave. mileage, miles to empty, temperature outside, but no service info. Is there a service/maintenance program? If so , where? and how do you reset it? Thanks, Erv

Erv not sure if the first gen is different but while the car is not moving you can go into the setup menu then scroll tot he service part and look at how many miles until the next service. But like I said I have an R56 so I am not sure for your gen car does it. How far are you from a dealership?

You may have a service coming due soon, call the sevice department of your nearest dealer and check with them.

The car has 37,000 on it and I am 65 miles from a dealer. According to the owners manual the service soon light denotes an emissions problem. The manual says nothing about getting to menus.
