Preformance or looks?

just got a mini cooper s 2004
got around 2grand to mod her
looking at 15%pully, cai, lowering springs and rmw injectors and street cam
would those be worth that much hp and preformance gain to give up
lowering springs, tint, bbs rs reps (red/wchrome lip) and exhaust

Personally, I'd go with a high-quality suspension setup.... works for both performance AND looks.

I'm all about go not show so I'd say work towards performance and handling rather than looks, but it's not my car either.

Def. start with the supercharger pulley. Then I really suggest driving it and making your decision on what to do next. The pulley is huge bang for the buck and makes a huge difference. So after that you may want to work on something other than power. But if you want more power, there's nothing lost in adding the other parts after the pulley.

Feel free to call us if you want more ideas.

I'd take the 2k and treat myself to a killer vacation. You have a cool and unique car no matter what.

Alrighty then. Let the fun begin!
I can't comment further, since I'm still getting my bargain priced fixer-upper on the road. In my case I'm KIND of dropping $2k on performance by swapping a 6 speed into an R50, but that's only because PO lunched the Midlands, and sold it as-is.

For me, if it isn't helping me go, turn or stop, I don't need it. But that is just me..

I would consider pulley, and a tune from one of the guys a must have. A one ball exhaust, some intake thingy (K&N on your throttle body anyone? AKA Hot air intake). Cam and 450 injectors (same price and scalable for the future) would make it really go...a 19mm rear bar...new pads if needed and think on the suspension for a while.

Personally, lowering my car is not going to happen. I scrape enough times at stock height and as I said before, looks are not on my list.

My FSD shocks and IE camber plates should be at my door any moment *out for delivery ATM.. and I am waiting for the snow rims to come off before upgrading the brakes in case the 15 inch rims I have for the snows don't fit.

That was my road to spending my discretionary funds. Should be pretty good then until I ruin something.

Figuring out what you really need takes a bit of time behind the wheel, but for me go fast things are always fun.

I'd go for the looks. Lower it. You-ify it. You can't see speed when it's sitting there, but, you can see body mods, wheels etc. They're already fast. Have fun.

Mini's really are fun and I think the correct answer is "whatever you want."

No one can help you decide what is best. I love having a stock looking car that isn't and others love having a custom look with stock mechanicals. We both do exactly what we want and that is why minis are so fun.

Keep us posted on what you decide.

I think performance is the most important, however I dabble a bit in dressing my MINI up as well. Listen to "HRM" and "Way". I pretty much agree with both of them.
