What up everyone v. new owner

hello everyone,

me and the SO will be purchasing a 2006 cooper s in eclipse gray or laser blue at the end of the month...been trying to find a GP but i dont think it will happen in the price range we want lol...just thought we would get the introductions out of the way...

i have been a long time honda enthusiast, this will be my first german car and hers...we test drove a few of them the other day and we both fell in love with the car immediately..

i have one big question...what tuning software are you using or are you just doing chip tuning? we are looking at doing basic mods to start, i.e. header, exhaust, intake/intake manifold, 15% pulley

we plan on making this forum home for a good while!!

there is a place about an hour and half from in here in philly called helix, anyone have any experience with them?

Thank you,

Russ and Laura

If helix is that close, they will be a great resource for you and your mini.
They do it all....and can do remote tunes on their dyno. Sounds like a good list...
With the exaust...try a " one ball" mod first....then if you want more power, or a better sound, there are lots of good exsusts around at different pricepoints....and a few threads with sounds...the one ball mod is almost free....
most of the mode come down to taste, $$$, and looks..most of the CAI are similar in performance, but sound/look different.
Good Luck, and welcome!!

so it would more beneficial to do the dyno tune rather than ordering the chip tune thru a company like mini-madness?

since the chip would accompany the mods that would be used, would i net the same power if i did do dyno tuning or would i see more gains using a software like Flash thru RMW or AWE tuning software?

Welcome

Start with the supercharger pulley, then do the rest of your mods. After your done modding the engine then worry about the ECU tune, otherwise you'll end up needing to retune the car after each mod.

thanks for all the welcomes....

we are looking at doing all the performance mods at once since it will cost less with packages, even without packages it would only be about $3k for everything performance wise we're looking at and have pretty much decided on the alta accessport for tuning needs
