Hi all! Although I’ve been registered on NAM for a while (and a lurker before that), I never seemed to get around to introducing myself. So, I just want to say I’m happy to be joining the MINI community. Although I owned Porsches for many years, when the new MINI was released, I was very taken with it. It was an evolving sort of thing but ultimately I decided to sell the Boxster and make the change. I bought my Cooper S in August and have been delighted with it. My car is special for me for several reasons. I really wanted BRG with Tuscan Beige/English Oak because it is such a classic combination for a British car. (I know, I know, a British car with a bit of help from the blokes in Munich!). I think I found with this car the balance between amenities and performance that fits for me. And, I really enjoy the note from my JCW exhaust and that whistle the turbo makes between shifts. It’s simply fun to drive! I also like the individuality that MINI ownership offers. We feel free to name our cars, personalize them and express ourselves. That’s nice. I’m looking forward to making new friends on NAM!
Oh, and I chose my NAM name “paddyh” in honor of Paddy Hopkirk. But, since my driving skill is nowhere close to his, I thought I should use lower case letters.
