Finally got my test drive in!

Last week I finally test drove a little '11 MINI - Spice Orange! She was very fun. The engine made the greatest burble/purr, and I was really surprised at the cornering. The sales guy told me to speed up and take a corner without moving the wheel and she really stayed put - no wobbling like my Honda.

Overall very impressed, neat gadgets and the interior lighting was great. Those seat warmers really get hot fast Was a little cramped with 3 people, and I did notice an annoying door rattle in the model I was driving while on the highway, but otherwise a really fun drive. Sadly too much traffic on 395 to really let her loose.

Also the guys at Alexandria MINI were super nice, not pushy at all, and e-mailed me before I even got home to say thanks and offer support for any questions But not like in a "I'm going to e-mail you every other day to make a sale" way lol.

Test Drive

I'm glad you got the test drive in, I was concerned about the space also, thats why I got the Clubman instead, You might want to check out a Clubman also.

Yeah, once you take a test drive, it's all over but the buyin'. No longer "if", now a matter of "when", and S vs. Justa, Clubbie, drop top, or coupe, manual vs. stick, color, options, you get the picture.

No cure for the sickness now. Welcome aboard!

I remember my test drive back in April, 2002. After driving about 12 other cars, I made the trip to my 'local' MINI dealership. After taking the first turn, I told the salesman (who was grinning ear to ear) that he had the easiest job in the car business, as the MINI just sold itself. And that was only a Justa. Order placed same day. Now I've got three MINI's in the garage. Don't say you haven't been warned!

You want to know how many cars I drove before deciding on a MINI? One, I drove it and it was love at first drive. I saved for 18 months and spent tons of time on the configuration before I placed my order.

Now that you drove one, good luck with anything else.

Lol...What's funny is, I test drove a reg cooper and thought wonders of it. When i found my car on the lot at the deal, I didn't even test drive it. I immediately knew I was gonna love it!

Just decide on the type, color, and options and away you will go.

Welcome to our world. It's a happy little place and all our co-workers are suspicious of the smiles when we arrive and depart the office. I tell them all the time...it's the MINI...

back when a was still a preteen my stepfather had his eyes on a MINI S convertible.
everytime he went to the dealership i just had to come! id race home form school or where ever i was to get over there.
he ordered the car and a few months later we picked it up, wasnt even on the lot more than an hour.

i begged him for rides everyday! something about that gurgle in the exhaust and that engine whine made my juices boil!

well years later he sold his mini for miata and i saved up all my working money and allowance and went out and bought an 02 justa. first car i looked at too. i just oculdnt turn it down. everyday i come out to see my car and cant help but smile. everyday when i step on that clutch and hear my car start up i cant help but smile. when i take a corner and power out of it.... i cant help but smile!

the MINI is love in a car.

you just cant not smile
not to mention the great community and sub culture that surrounds the car

my car does have a bit of rattles in the door too, but i thought it was because it was 8 years old..... ehhh just another excuse to turn up the music lower those windows and fly!

I was looking for a used MINI, but I designed one at the MINIUSA site and sent it to my local MINI dealer. I got an email asking if I'd driven one. I scheduled a test drive. I drove it and I bought one that day!

I wanted a Clubman, so the difference in price wasn't that great, between a used one and a new one. That and the incentives to buy one off the lot had me driving one home! I don't regret it.

You got that right...I just test drove a MC & MCS over the weekend....thought it would calm me down a bit.

Now I have been building a few different versions of them online and also scouting cars.com non-stop for used deals.

It just won't end until I get my MINI!!!!!!!

LOL we have another MINIac on our hands.

The Doctor prescribes: one MINI of your choosing, a full tank of gas, sunny skies, and open, twisty roads. Shift into first gear, and don't stop driving until you refuel. Repeat as necessary should symptoms persist.
