possible newbie

Hello, my name is Jonathan. I currently have a 99 volvo s80 turbo, but it has 180k on it. I bought it used 4 yrs ago and got burned on repair bills ever since. I want a Mini. I'm gonna have to go used, so before I jump into another used car I want to hear from some owners about what to expect. I'm looking at a 2004 Mini Cooper with 80k on it for sale by owner. What kinda things should I look out for and what short of things I should as about?

Thanks Jon Clayton

I would ask if he is the original owner, and if he is, ask for history of work done to this car to start it off.

Take the '04 to a MINI knowledgeable tech and have him check it out. Ask the owner what all he has done and when and see if he will supply the records, show these to the tech. With 80K on the clock there could be some things that need to be done right now or very shortly.
