I have always bought "practical" cars, but decided it is time for a car that is fun to drive. I have scheduled a test drive tomorrow to check out the mini clubman, manual transmission and an automatic transmission. I have never considered a car so far outside my "nun mobile" habits, but my brother in law's mini is very appealing. So, here I go.

 

I'm waiting on my 2011 Clubby. It's still got the go-kart handling of the hatchback, but a smoother ride and lots more room. Hope you like it!

Welcome to the forum, I think you will love the Clubman, auto or manual it doesn't matter whichever suits you better. The auto allows you to let the "brain" do it whenver your feeling lazy, but you can also shift your self when you feel like being a "DRIVER"!

Loved the clubman. Would have to go with automatic transmission as putting the manual in reverse jolts my right shoulder. Had a moment of "if I'm going with automatic why not get an Impreza?" So I test drove an Impreza and it is practical and boring... and not very good on gas mileage for a small car... Now I am crunching the numbers for the clubman of my dreams and am suffering from sticker shock... Will think on it.
