new owner and some questions

Hi all.

I bought a mini off ebay last week. It was damaged from something falling on it. You may have saw it listed.I am working on the road and have not saw it yet.Buddy is picking it up for me Monday. I will be going on vacation starting the 20th so will be excited when I get home. Hope I wont be dissapointed..

The car is a 06 S..it has 24000 miles and is a 6 speed manual. Is there anyway for me to figure out the past owner to see what mods he has done to it?(i bought it from a car dealer and it has a salvage title. That doesnt matter since every car I have had in the last 30 years had one. LOL..)
I see it has a Borla exhaust and a intake and a helix and a GIAC. Not sure what they are. Also kinda looks like an inner-cooler.I think..maybe wrong on that.

here are pics if this works..

I would just like to find out what he has done to this so I have an idea. Cant wait! Thanks. Jim

Welcome to the forum and what looks like a bit of body work. Good luck and hope that the sheet metal is all thats wrong, left side looks more or less straight.

Thanks Ben. I have never bought anything without looking so this is a gamble but I cant imagine finding much more..."Fingers crossed"

My sister has a mcs and I had a good time driving it so I do know that I like the car as far as that goes..

I was hoping someone recognized the car and spoke up..Theri has to be a way an average person can find out the prior owner of a vehicle..

The trick is figuring out why they are selling a car. This time it is easy. Unless you are extremely unlucky (i.e. damage was caused by a floating log while the car went down a river) the things that are wrong with it, are easy to see. Reading up on the forum should help with identifying the CAI (intake). Look for a super charger pulley upgrade too since it is common, easy, cheap and well worth it.

Good luck with the new project. Seems well worth an investment of time.
