Hello New Friends

Good Morning:
First time on the Forum. Just purchased a 2003 Mini Cooper R50. Hoping this is a great site for information. Great car- Liquid Yellow body with black top. First mod was adding Checkered taxi graphic at the bottom of the doors. My wife calls it the Killer Bee !

Best regards,

From New Mexico

Welcome to a forum full of really friendly helpful people who made me feel welcome from the beginning. I've learned much valuable information about our new mini from them. I love the checkers too & that was the 1st mod we done was the mirrors! Send pics of yours as soon as you can. We would love to see the Killer Bee!

Heh! Love 'Killer Bee' for a name, and Liquid Yellow was my favorite bright color before I saw the Laser Blue! I'm so happy your enjoying your new little toy! I promise you that you'll never stop smiling when you drive it, it's a proven fact.

Question: for the standard R50 Mini Cooper.

What is the best shift point/ RPM for each gear- for best torque?
My wife is shifting too soon and lugging it. She is afraid to rev the engine.

Thanks

Tell the wife to stick her foot in the throttle, I would generally not shift below 5000, but I like to go, most women don't. Just keep at it, she will learn.
