Hello! I thought I'd share the beginning of my MINI adventure with you all -

Last week I stopped at a NJ dealership to check out their lease deals and drive the basic hardtop. It was different, took a while getting used to the instrument panels etc, felt a little claustrophobic without a sky to look at, but I ended up going back a few days later to test the S. The S was so much fun to drive that I decided to buy one, albeit with a moonroof.

I was really impressed with the professionalism and friendly service that I got from the peeps at this dealership. My sales guy absolutely ROCKS! Both he and his manager extended themselves beyond infinity to accomodate my preferences: I wanted a "Midnight Black" body with white top, manual transmission, plus premium and cold weather packages. That's a tall order for an end of year clearance so I just hung out and chatted while they tried to locate a car for me.

There were only two cars in the entire country that matched the parameters: one was destined for St. Louis, MO, the other was on the way to Georgia.

WHOOHOO! MO MINI IS HEADED FOR NJ!!

I will be picking up my car next week, can't wait! Also looking forward to meeting any NJ/NY/PA/CT MINI folks. I love to drive.

Welcome aboard! A fellow NJ Mini owner here (though only for the last month or so). Glad to hear you had such a great experience and that you found what you want. Which Mini dealer are you going through? There's three in NJ that I know of.

Congrats! Years ago, I happened upon a dog pound and decided to just see what they had--just to look. My fate sounds similar to yours: I ended up with a dog, and yes, it was a good decision.

 

Some things don't change. I got my Pomeranian that way too.

NJ Mini - let me know when your car comes in - I work in Bergen County and have a few twisties up my sleeve. Great roads over there in the Sparta area.

That'd be great. I just recently moved up to northern NJ and really don't know the area very well. The Mini will definitely give me the excuse for some long road trips.
