Posting protocol

When I have a question about my MINI and have similar previous posts, is it better to start a new thread or reply to an old post that may be even a year old?

I'd extend an existing thread...

Your post will put that thread at the top of the list in the section that contains it, and also appear at the top of the "Recent Posts" list that I think most of us use. (That is https://www.northamericanmotoring.co....php?do=getnew).

Another tip -- search this forum using Google! Just add "site:northamericanmotoring.com" [don't use the quotes] to the search terms and you'll have much better luck than with the Forum Search itself.

Cheers,

Charlie

That makes sense to me. It seems that it would eliminate the need for someone to repeat information that was already posted. Thanks for the google tip.

You'll also spare yourself numerous "use the search tool" responses.
