Hi... OldTimer here (Mike), just wanted to finally say hello as I've been lurking around for a while. I'm in Western Mass, and sometime in the very near future, I'd like to look into a used Mini, preferably a Cooper S, hopefully a 2007 (turbo), but I'm open to the supercharged versions as my Ford Lightning SVT F150 has an Eaton supercharger and I'm sort of familiar with them. The truck is a 3-season cruise/show beast although its been thoroughly massaged and probably puts down 425 RWHP and 550 RWTQ. Right now my DD/beater is a '95 VW Cabrio that we bought new for my daughter and she gave back to me 18 months ago. Its a little rough in that it lived in Boston's North End for 10 years, but I've maintained the mechanical stuff. Want to sell that this Spring and go mini-hunting. I like the silver, grey, and black coupes, no more convertibles! Ideally, I'd like to find a slightly modded S or maybe a reasonably priced JCW. I always like the mini's since I first saw them in Europe decades ago... those cosworth mini's were awesome. Now I just want one that is civilized and sporty!

I like the idea of a supercharger, there's a coolness factor about them, but the geeky engineer in me says turbos consume less horsepower.

My DD beater is a Ford F-350 Powerstroke diesel 4x4 (Turbo) the dog thinks it's his bed!
