Late-life Crisis

At the ripe age of 72 I finally got a Mini, having lusted after same for too many years. My friends said it was a "midlife crisis" until I reminded them that I was born in England in the middle of WWII.
It's a great little car (2012 Base) and gets a "ten" for driving fun and a "three" for available space. Regardless my wife and I are very pleased with the purchase and enjoy driving around our rural and mountainous area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Cheers,

Grover

You're not the only one that was late for the party. You're right these little things are a hoot. Congratulations and enjoy.

I read once that growing older is mandatory, growing up is optional. And I have found that fun isn't relegated to the youth of our society, but it does keep you youthful.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the MINI. Fun at any age.

The next time someone says anything about a midlife crisis, just flash them a really big smile and ask them when was the last time that they had as much fun as you are having.

OBTW - space a 3? While it is not a Suburban, I can put an 8ft 2x4 or 4 track tires or my wife, 2 large dogs and luggage inside my or her MINI. I'd give it at least a 5 for space.

We got ours when I was 72, wife 68 Have a great time doing wine run in the foot hills east of sacramento. Think I enjoy fun thing more now than when I was younger. Still have my Shelpized 66 mustang notch back and my old midget. Get a smile every time I go into the garage and see Lulu sitting they Thinking very seriousl y of selling the the Ford Expedition and Toyota Tacoma and use the money for JCW built my way.

Grover drive from Plymouth to Mt Aukm over Shandoah Road or any of the side roads it is a hoot at speed. Lot of good wineries up there, do the run first. You can drive from Hwy 49 up to Hwy 88 or go up through Fiddle town to Volcano and then up to 88

A few days short of 70 here. We've been MINI motorers since '08. My co-pilot child bride (65) just acquired her very own '15 CM this spring and we spent most of June and July on an epic 6500 mile adventure up the coast hiway and back following roads less traveled in the '06 R52. Our signature tells a bit of the story so get out there and write your own. Welcome to the world of the funnest wee cars about.
