I had been looking for a used R56, but the resale values are so darn high that a new one ended up being not that much more. Having had a Prius as a daily driver for the past 6-1/2 years, the new MINI feels liberating. The dealer says to be prepared to do the brakes early on (the Prius went 130K without needing new brake pads), and I haven't quite figured out how to get the Bluetooth and iPod working right on the MINI, but I'm sure there's lots to read about it on the NAM boards.
