possible mini owner

hi all,
I have an 06' subaru impreza 2.5I (base non-turbo) and I have come to a point where putting more money into modding my car, just doesn't make sense. I love subaru and the community. I'm very active over on "nasioc.com" and plan to stay that way even if I get a mini, and eventually plan on getting back into a subie, but I found a listing for an 05' cooper s today that seems to good to be true. So I was hoping some people on here could look at the ad for me and see if it seems on the up and up, and if there is anything I should look for in terms of common problems with these cars. thanks alot.

Looks good! Mileage and it being an Auto are probably the reasons why the price is what it is. But it's an 05, with NAV and cold weather package. I say go for it if you like it. It is the best color as well

Do you specifically want an automatic? The only reason I ask is that it sounds like you are an enthusiast, and most of us prefer the sticks. Regarding the car itself, I'm sure you know to have it checked out by an independent mechanic. You can also ask the local MINI dealer to run the VIN to get a printout of any maintenance that may have been done at the dealership. Shorty was just kidding about the color, you know. It's a well established fact that Electric Blue is the best color

thanks guys, as far as the trans. I don't much care one way or another, while I would love a stick, I am in traffic a decent amount and from what I read (correct me if I am wrong) the autos have paddleshifters, which would be fine for me when I carving up the back roads. and to veg, ya I knew to take it to a mechanic, I was a certified tech, and I planning on bringing my mechanic with me to look at it.

These guys are giveing you bum advice. Pepper White is the most regal colour for MINI's . All kidding aside, I see both you and the car are in RI. I would recommend that you bring it to Inskip MINI in Warwich for inspection.
IMO, they're a super dealer.

Looks fantastic. Don't worry about it being auto - as you said, you're in traffic quite a bit and an auto is certainly easier in that situation.

Sounds OK to me, and if it passes your planned inspection, go for it. As to the fact it's an automatic take a look at the thread on automatic owners on the General Mini discussion forum.
