hi from UK

Hi - been looking on here a while and always on Minitorque.com so thought I'd best say hello.

My mini has gone from stock(ish) to a fully stripped track monster done by myself and a good mechanic friend in my garage - all except the re-map

It has one of Thumper's heads , janspeed mani with Milltek , Mynes tune with 550's ( 3rd feb :-) ), obx lsd, fx 400 , newman cam , dave-f cai , kw clubs, R56 alloy trailing arms , tsw links . IE rear roll bar , powerflex all over , plastic windows , Water/air charge cooler ( made up by me out of bits ) , Coastal racing rear wing , Team Dynamics with Toyo R888's etc etc - it goes on and on .

Here's a link to my first day at the track with it but it's changed a lot since then too ! http://s919.photobucket.com/albums/a...20-%20Nov%2009

Anyway that's it from me

Welcome BP

Great looking r53. Awesome color scheme too. If you can w/o tipping off the competition - post what sort of numbers is your MINI pushing ?

Always wondered, what is it like having a modded MINI in the UK regarding regulations and such. Especially a race ready car for the street.

Every year state and federal regulations here become more stringent as our cars emission systems are micromanaged banning the usual and somewhat harmless bolt on parts - and done so in the shadows of huge industry polluters who are buying up carbon credits from Washington DC to offset their print and allow their continued operation.

Are there any standards to adhere to like in the USA ?

with 450 injectors, one balled exhaust standard type, GTT intercooler and Non-mynes tune I had 252BHP and 201LB/ft .

So on 3rd Feb I'm hoping to get 265-270 fingers crossed but it's the LSD i'm most keen to try out .

I have decided to take it off the road as it's not practical with a roll cage etc so I stripped it further after that decision . I got a few funny looks as it looked like I was sat on the floor and I'm sure the police would take an unhealthy interest too .

lol - Many drivers do that here now all hunkered down with their stock seat
Those are some really awesome numbers Can't begin to imagine having that much hp is these cars, plus some weight reduction even with the bar.

Looking forward to seeing some you-tube clips of you on the race track in the future.

There was a European Touring car E36 BMW which was fantastic but plain white so not one for the cameras but everything else was stood still in comparison to it
