Newbie with questions...

Hi, I'm new....

I've been looking to buy another car for a few months now, and keep coming back to the MINI, but wasn't sure. Well, a few weeks ago I test drove an S and decided this is definitely the car for me.

I've found a 2009 MCSa with 16k miles that is in my budget. I'm just wondering if there are any common issues I should be on the lookout for? Since it's still under warranty I'm not too concerned, but would rather avoid buying someone else's problem.

There isn't any one thing to be on the lookout for. I would pull a Carfax to make sure it hasn't been hurt or soaked and have it checked out by a MINI dealer if you have one handy or reputable mechanic before purchase. As long as it drives "straight", the transmission is solid, the engine feels strong, and all of the electrical and computerized goodies function like they should, go for it. You still have 20,000 miles of free maintenance 34,000 miles of warranty left. Why worry?

If it's a CPO vehicle, wouldn't the 6 year/100,000 mile warranty be in play....that's if it's being bought from a dealer.

Thanks for the tips. I pulled a Carfax and everything looks good. The car is on a Ford lot, so it's not a CPO. Still has plenty of warranty left, so I decided to go for it.

I called the dealer today to make sure the car was still there (they are 4 hours away) and was told it got sold earlier this week. I suppose I'll keep searching.

Now that I think about it, I probably should have called the dealer before pulling the Carfax. Oh well, at least I bought the unlimited reports for a month.
