Week 47 Builds...

Well I ordered mine on 11/08/09 and it is in queue to be built. So I'm gonna say it's a week 47 build. I very excited to watch it.

Anyone else?

Okay, I think if I'm counting correctly, I'm in Week 47. My car went into production between the 10th and 12th. No word yet on whether he's waiting on a boat or still in the factory.

I ordered on Saturday, November 7th, and recieved my production number on Monday. I was a bit surprised to find that on Wednesday (11th) it was already showing "scheduled for production" with an attached vin. I went to check see if the order details were correct. Fortunately, they were. I subsequently called "Ask Mini" and it states the car should be completed on the 18th. Overall, it's moving quicker than I expected. I am hoping it will be here by the second week in December.

Mine still shows "In Production" but has since Wednesday. I'm guessing it's done by now and hasn't updated yet.

I'm also hoping for an early December delivery. Like it says in the sig, I hate waiting.

Hey RVExotics am I reading correctly you have a pair of VW GTIs? I had a 2006 with a DSG. I loved it. I actually preferred the DSG over the manual. I was considering getting another GTI but the Mini gave me what I wanted for cheaper. I still love the MkV GTIs though. The reviews over the MkVIs look pretty good too.

Yeah, my partner and I have GTIs. He has a stick and I have the DSG. I really like the car, the smooth shifting tranny, etc., but I really miss the MINI culture and atmosphere. I used to drive a 2007 MCS. My partner will be keeping his GTI so we can enjoy the best of both worlds. I feel more comfortable keeping the stick GTI because of all the issues VW has been having with the DSG tranny, and the idea of having a faulty $8k tranny out of warranty just isn't tempting...

I'll agree with you on the MkVIs definitely. They are some slick looking cars. I haven't driven one yet but I got to see the first two my dealer got in - the typical white two door and gray four door. I wasn't sure what to think about the new front end design but in person it is phenomenal. The interior upgrades are pretty slick as well, especially that touch screen radio and differently designed plaid. What I didn't like to see is the new pricing...sheesh, $27,XXX for what was otherwise a "base" white two door. We bought our 2009 with the 18" wheels/sunroof package for $23,XXX and that was in Oct of 2008!

Ah well, can't wait til mid December!!! I too hate waiting....

Base MSRP for the 2010 GTI is $23,290. What drove it over $27k?? Easily done with options, but a "base" car should start at that figure.

Hmm, good point. I didn't take a close look at the sticker. It may have had Nav and whatnot, who knows. I know it struck me as rather costly though!

I am in week 47 as well I believe! Mine went into production the day after I ordered it! I was shocked. I bought a Clubman last year around this time that took 8 weeks to get - it didn't go into production for 2 weeks after ordering, so I was pleaantly surprised this time!

So mine was completed on 11/16, arrived at the port on 11/18. As of today, my status on the OL, it is still showing awaiting transport. I checked the WW lines (mine's coming to New York) and my VIN is not showing in their system. COntacted my MA, and he has no shipping info right now either. I am crossing my fingers that it made it on the ship TASCO that left Southampton yesterday. Anyone else coming into the New York Port that has any shipping info on theirs? I am hoping I didn't miss this boat!
