I'm a proud Mini Cooper R50 (12/04) owner from december 2005 and I read your great forum many times. Now it's come the time to be part of it.
My cooper recieved severals upgrades during these years...but it's always a work in progress.
I'm president of a local mini club and a member of Club Mini Italia.

Here fiat 500 is out on the market since july 2008 and it's a bestseller. It comes with a 1.2 60hp, a 1.4 100 hp and a diesel 1.3 with 75 hp. Just a couple of month ago the new 500c (cabriolet) came out and I have to say I love it.

The abarth ones are very interesting both in good looking and performances.
Many tuners are proposing severals steps from the official "Esseesse" (S.S. Special stage in italian) with 155 bhp by fiat Abarh to various solutions with 200 and over bhp.

 

We get the Fiat 500 in the US sometime next year. It will be interesting to see how it competes with the MINI.

I have owned 3 Fiat 124 Spyder convertibles years ago and enjoyed them. My MINI reminds me of the fun I had with those old (1976, 1980, 1981) Fiats.
