Who has named their MINI? and What is his/hers Name?

Hi Everyone!

I know this is a silly topic. I feel like I have adopted a puppy or kitten, rather than purchasing a car. Of course I have to name the new member of the family. I figure out what I'm going to name her yet. However I'm very interested what other folks have named theirs.

Who has named their Mini? and What is your Mini's Name?

Name Your Mini?

Rupert Marvolo

told me his name as we were introducing ourselves to one another on some sweet country roads.

Rupert is from Rupert Giles, Buffy Summers' "watcher" in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (please, the television series, NOT the crappy 1992 movie!).

Marvolo relates to Thomas Marvolo Riddle, aka "I am Lord Voldemort" from the Harry Potter series (specifically, the Chamber of Secrets). It implies some of the imp that lies underneath his quiet Clubman exterior, a bit of mischief belying his diminutive "grocery getter" appearance.

So, Rupert Marvolo it is. I've told my husband that my love affair has begun. At first, Randy said, "it's just a car"... last night, he took Rupert out by himself... and now he knows. This JCW Clubman is so much more than "just a car".

I'm hoping this relationship has only just begun (just hit 2k miles) and will last many, many years to come.

Don't feel weird. We've been doing it for AGES.

Check out these other threads (and the dates on the posts.) Here and Here and here ....among others.

Oh, and don't forget to play with the idea of Vanity Plates - there are mucho threads (like this one!) on that one too.

Molly M. Cooper, because she told me that was what her name was. Little Richard's Song "Good Golly Miss Molly!!" "MS MOLY" (Personalized Plate) , "The Molly Car", when Hubby and I are talking about her!!

'Atsok...That's what we're here for!! My first MINI (2004 MCS...BRG and White, not a surprise!) was "DeerSlayer" and my current MINI (2007 MCS Turbo, um...also BRG and white) is "Mints." Not my idea, it's his, but hey! Whatever.

No name here. If someone were to ask I would probably give them either the production number or the VIN. I know both by heart.

But not a silly question by any means.

Well, I named a cat after a tractor (Kubota). So why not name a car after a Cat.

Schroeder is My Mini's new name. Schroeder was a very cool cat. He even attended 12 Hours of Sebring endurance race once.

Thanks everyone for your reply.... I feel right at home

HERE'S BUTTERS!

Like his Southpark namesake, he is mild mannered & a little high strung.
Cross him the wrong way & his alter ego Professor Chaos takes over.

KOBAL -- both name and license plate.

Before Lucifer's fall from heaven, Kobal was the Archangel of Laughter there. He sided with Lucifer and was expelled from heaven. When Lucifer set up shop in hell, Kobal was named the Demon Prince of Dark Humor. He is sometimes called the Entertainment Director of Hell, and is the patron of comedians.

So the license plate says KOBAL; the frame (white letters on black) says ARCHANGEL OF LAUGHTER on top and DEMON PRINCE OF DARK HUMOR on the bottom.

And don't even THINK about passing me, suckah!

Chester's name just came to me (him?). Both times that someone's asked if I named him, they start to laugh and then say "Actually, that fits really well."

First my wife and daughter had to decide if the MINI was male or female. Eventually both agreed that it was male due to the dark silver color and the black hood stripes which they determined to be male.

Then we ran through a number of British sounding names and Dudley was christened.....

Happy Motoring!!!

Never thought of it that way...true & a little creepy
I guess I should keep a closer eye on him. I will continue to keep him clean & happy so he doesn't turn on me.

Mine is Tigger, he's orange with black stripes, it seemed to fit him. The license plate is TGGRRR
Next week the rear boot stripes are going on since you can't have a Tigger with no stripes on his butt.

Truer words were never spoken! Do you already have your boot stripes, or do you need a set?
