Ah, the weekend. I'm a little worried because it's suppose to rain today and tomorrow here. And...I don't have a garage or car port. My poor baby. Was kind of thinking of picking it up Sunday instead so it won't get water spots right after I get it. And buying a car cover of course.

 

Not to worry...MINIs like some good old fashion British weather now and again.

But......do study up on your car washing tools/techniques/options. You will need those and getting started the right way will save you much grief.

 

I can't just take it to a (brush-free) car wash? Or is that blasphemy?

 

You can...but not the ones with those rotating brushes of death. MINI paint is easily marred and some have shed tears over getting those first car washes wrong. Don't want that to see happen to anybody!!!

NAM has pretty exhaustive info on keeping a MINI looking great...it's become something of a sub-sulture.

Alas, there has been a delay in the Mini. I wanted to pick it up on Sunday, but my salesman called me and said they got backed up and mine hadn't been inspected yet. C'est la vie. I understand since I didn't have a time for him until mid-Saturday. I was going to go yesterday, Monday. But my ex got news that his grandfather died. So I spent Monday evening helping him pack and get everything arranged. Looks like it'll be this weekend instead. But I will post pictures asap. I'm very anxious. Eeek.

are you required to have a front plate? My dealer was nice enough not to put the front brackets on... so I have a nice clean look without the front plate. Other than that... I like the colors and the sport stripes! Motor ON!!

 

Yes, in California front plates are required. Sigh...I love my car, but my now my bank account is sad. =(
