I would try posting in the Detailing 101 section of the forums HERE OctaneGuy and Phil are two vendors there that are VERY helpful!!!! I have been using a Porter Cable 7424 and polishes/sealants and although the car is brand new I managed to get all the dealer's "detailing" out and made her look like she was off the production floor!

Here is a link to the thread where I pulled the swirls out....HERE

Best of luck!

great shine now

Thanks for the information...did a lot of reading and searching out for reasons why i wasn't getting any shine...basically the clear coat needed to be sanded down....after spraying the clear coat, it will leave alot of bumps or you will see "orange peel effect"...this needed to be wet sanded down...i used 1000 wet sandpaper first, used a 3" sponge on top with lots of water. sponge helped me keep even pressure to the sandpaper and you don't need to put much pressure to the paper...use lots of water and kinda make the sandpaper float over the water and this will start cutting the top of the hills of the clear coat, take you time and don't rush, after i thoroughly went thru it once then i changed to 1500 grit wet sand paper and did the same thing...this took a total of 1.5 hours, after i blew off the water, there shouldn't be any "orange peel effects" left. after it dries it will be white..now you are ready to polish...i started with rubbing compound..take you time and then after that i used meguliar (spellling?) and polish and started to the results i wanted...did the polishing and buffing twice and then used the next megulair polishing system next and wallaaaahhhh....i got the deep shine and matches the rest of the car... ...i am happy now...my car color was the british racing green...think i spent a total of 3.5 to 4 hours last nite....i am done, now i can wax the rest of the car and go cruising.....
