New Member/Owner from Vermont

Hi everyone, I just wanted to drop in and say hi.

I just purchased an '04 R53 last weekend. After a little research here I found out that mcs22004 (no longer active member here) was the previous owner of the car.

So far I'm loving it! My fiancee has wanted a Mini for awhile, so we got it as a "summer" car. Fortunately for me, she doesn't drive stick.

I can't wait to get involved with the community!

Welcome! Though I've been registered here at NAM for a bit longer, I just got my first MINI - a 2007 MCS Cabrio - this past week, and I'm loving it! It seems like this forum maybe doesn't generate as many replies as others I've visited over the years...plenty of views, just not many replies. So, from one newbie to another - congrats, and welcome!

I have had my first mini for about year now and I love it! I plan on keeping it forever. Bought it used from a gentleman who was getting into the BMW 1 Series, although he was having a hard time getting rid of his mini because he loved it so much! It's an '04, Chili Red, and I am looking to start a club up here in Vermont. Any help or suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Where in Vermont?

I'm in South Burlington, and have a 2003 velvet red / white Cooper for an autocross / track car, and a 2007 mellow yellow / black Cooper S for my daily driver.

I live in Charlotte. I just bought a 2005 mini, about a year ago and I love it. Looking to keep it forever but also get involved with some track time, or something, would love to start a club up here in Vermont, I know there is enough interest. Love your pictures! I will have to get some of mine up there..

Vermont Mini Technician

I love my owner's manual and my service manual, but there are just some things I want done by someone who knows what they are doing. Does anyone in Vermont have a great mechanic, tech, or someone that does work on your Mini if and when needed? I am located in the Burlington Area and I don't mind traveling but looking specifically in Vermont.

Thanks for the help!

Great question, I always just travel to my dealer (Keeler in Latham, NY) but it's a 3 hour drive so I don't do it often.

Hi There! A little late to the thread. FWIW I do all my own work (so far), but have heard good things about Ralph's Foreign Auto here in Colchester - I've only had mine there for a state inspection, but talking w/ the tech he told me about a couple of other MINI's that they work on, one a racer, plus got a recommendation from a fellow SCCV member - anything past my capabilities, would prob go there...

awesome! I'm in Burlington - just picked up my first MINI last Monday. If you see an '04 pure silver/black Cooper S around, thats me!

...I'm surprised to see how many VTer's there are on here!

Hi,

A bit late in posting to this thread although I've never posted here but been around to search for how-to tips. Great place. I'm in South Burlington too and I have a yellow MINI with a black top. Bought it off someone who lives in St Alban last August.

I've been looking for a mechanic around this area who's worked on MINIs before (I realised that MINIs are still rather peculiar to most garages here). Anyway, I will be checking out Ralph's Foreign Auto!!!

That's probably a good place to check, but also I've had great dealings with the Imported Car Center in Williston.
