Hey everyone,

I'm new around here, but I figured I would sign up and post about my new purchase

It's a 2009 Chili Red Cooper S, and it is a blast to drive. Any tips on taking care of a new cooper? The dealer said once a year for oil changes which seemed crazy, and I assume premium gas is the way to go

Congrats ! Your Mini Cooper looks Good ! I also just got a new Mini 09 Lighting Blue with White top and racing stripes = She is sweet also ! I can't understand the oil change thing also 15000 miles or one year for a oil change . Sound too good to be true but i guess so ? Happy Driving !

I live in Austin. Supposedly they are building a Mini service place up here which would be quite awesome

 

Congrats on the new MINI.....yes, use premium!!! I did a voluntary oil change following my break-in period....other than that I go w/ whatever the manufacturer recommends. When you do this, make sure they reset your OBC to keep up w/ intervals...I have had that skipped a time or two which I went back and had remedied immediately.

Congrats!!!! Nice looking car. Wonder if we saw you at Mini of SA yesterday when we picked up our new Clubbie. Yes to Premium gas .....and we plan on changing the oil more frequently. There's lots of long threads on this site debating the pros and cons.

DH thinks he remembers you. We were there for about 3 hours in all and totally exhausted following. He was the other customer with a beard. Then we got to finish watching that pathetic Spurs/Mavericks game at Lion and Roses in SA.

Mini is a fun car to drive. Now to come up with a name. Named your's yet? I noticed that the Austin Mini group is having a road trip in May. Thought you might want to know.
