Today's fun fact:

361 cars were loaded onto the Morning Concert at Southampton.

In what can only be a startling coincedence, I've refreshed the web tracker page 361 times in the last hour and a half.

I had a bit of a scare earlier. I was checking the Canal webcams after the MC was first spotted in the area. I thought the MC was already in the locks but what I saw was a ship that looked almost exactly like the MC. It turned out to be the Aquamarine ACE. I guess I am spending too much time on this tracking stuff...Nope, not enough!!!

 

Update: She's getting closer. Just north of Pueblo Nuevo.

The tracker is showing the Morning Concert moored outside Limon Bay - guessing it will come through the canal sometime tomorrow.

Does this mean I can quit checking the webcams for a few hours?

Yeah, it looks like she will come through first thing in the morning if they are doing things as they have in the past. I will be checking in throughout the evening just because I can.

I just found out that the Don Pasquale is a day late. Interestingly, it left Southampton a day late, but claimed it was going to be on time. Guess not.
Good thing I couldn't get it next week anyway, 'cuz it probably won't be there.
How do you find out how many cars were loaded? What is the address?

Here's what I did. I went to the WW tracking website and entered my VIN in the Cargo ID field. When you track that, it will give you another screen with information on just your car. On that screen is a Booking Number and a Bill of Lading number.

Take either of those numbers, go back to the tracking screen, and enter it into the appropriate field. (Be sure to clear out the Cargo ID field.)

Track that and voila! You will see how many MINIs were loaded on your ship at Southampton.

I discovered just how close I was to missing the boat - less than 30 cars were loaded onto the Morning Concert after mine. Last on, first off! (I hope!)

If anybody else has fun ideas to help pass the next couple weeks I'd like to hear them...

Thanks. 310 cars, mine loaded 16:41, last at 18:43, so I was in plenty of time, as about 120 cars were loaded after mine. They must have a lot of drivers, because sometimes two are in the same minute.

 

For me only the Booking Number worked, but it did. Thanks!

In fact let's see how many "lurckers" we can get to join the madness. I get the feeling there are more people following this thread who have cars on the way that have not joined in on the posting fun.

 

I recently posted in week 17 telling them to catch this thread--at least weeks 17-19 are on the Morning Concert. Everyone post pics of their cars when you get them--I will be one of later California cars delivered, as it will be going to Sacramento.

 

Well, it looks like I got up just a bit too late, at least to see her go through the Gatun locks. Even if I had timed things right I'm not sure I could have grabbed any pics as that webcam is down (at least it is right now). Oh well.

Maybe we'll see her at the Centennial Bridge and Miraflores webcams.

melcmini: I have yet to come up with a name for some reason i was going to name him Minnow but I'm still not sure yet..... :( mine doesn't have the cold pkg but everything else is pretty much spot on!

 

Mine got on the DP with plenty of time to spare, thank goodness. Can you imagine being the person with the last car on the ship? I would probably be freaking out.

I still haven't completely decided on a name, but Bonnie is sounding like the likely candidate. Any thoughts?

 

I am thinking of Bella--She is blue. Between my husband and two sons, I need something female in my life.....My husband's mini is called the "Jiminni Machine". It is definitely not female!

Ahhhhh!!! I'm going crazy again. The MC has been sitting just inside the Gatun Locks ALL DAY!!! Moored, no movement, nothing. I'm starting to think she will be sitting there until tomorrow morning. I hope this is a scheduled stop and it doesn't delay her getting into PH.

As of now the WW site still has her coming into PH as scheduled. The only change I've seen so far was the departure from Manzanillo (was 5/20, now shows 5/21).
