Ordered my Cabrio!

Just ordered (yesterday) a new Chili Red Cabrio S with black bonnet stripes. Can't wait for delivery! Looking for the dos and don'ts, and any advice is appreciated!

33 views of the thread and not ONE welcome to the new girl ??

Welcome to NAM, New Girl. And congrats on your order !

What made you decide on a MINI convertible ? What are the specs of your order ?

Now, if you have any specific questions, ask away. Otherwise, you can fill your time waiting for your MINI to be built by perusing the forums here on NAM learning just about everything you want to know about MINIs.

Again, welcome to NAM.

Do enjoy it.

Don't go crazy waiting.

Do buy sunblock.

Don't fall for ChiliPepperJet's lame pickup lines.

Do go spend some time on the 1st gen MINI cabrio forum - LOTS of good info there that will likely also apply to your new 2nd gen cabrio.

Don't be skeered - but you're gonna have one of the first 2nd gen cabrios... and are gonna be a guinea pig of sorts... tell us how it goes!

Welcome!

Welcome to NAM & the topless world. You are going to enjoy it! On long, hot drives, bring water. Keep hats and a blanket in the car. NAM is a great place to learn about your Mini.

Decided on the MINI S convertible 'cause I wanted lots of sun (the big sunroof on the hardtop just wasn't enough), a fun ride, and have always loved the look. Test drove my first MINI about two years ago when my husband was shopping for a convertible (he bought something else though), and coveted the MINI convertible ever since. Tried the hardtop again last weekend with the sunroof open, but it just doesn't give me the open sun & wind feel I wanted, and I like some of the refinements on the new Cabrio as well, so the 09 seemed better for me than the "almost new" 08s still around.

as for the specs on my order:

Cooper S Convertible
Chilli Red Paint
Red Leather/Carbon Black Cloth Interior
Multi-function Steering Wheel
Black Bonnet Stripe
Center armrest
Color line Rooster Red
Interior Surf. Piano Black
Dynamic Traction Control
Bluetooth USB and iPod Adapter
All Season Tires
Cold Weather Package

Sounds like a *great* car... you're gonna be SOOOO happy.

Did they give you an idea of lead time or a build week yet?
