Sometimes it takes a day before it is listed on the WW site. You may want to check tomorrow. It really depends on when it got to the dock and when it was loaded.

I don't see the Mignon tracking on the SAILWX site, but as I was tracking the Otello out of Southhampton, I noticed the Mignon was about a half mile to the southwest of the Otello. As they are identical ships and the mignon is scheduled to arrive in Halifax about 4 hours ahead of the Otello, you can use any Otello positioning to keep track of where the Mignon is.

Cool, thanks. That's about where I estimated the Mignon would be, 1/2 way. So it's like 1:42 ish am there....I wonder what they set ship's time to?

Maritime time is has always based on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) which is now known as Universal Time (UTC) and based on the Atomic Clock standard.

If you have the UTC time, subtract 5 hours to get Eastern Standard Time.

How did you determine that? The schedule says it is not due to depart until today which was changed from yesterday.

Hi Pat!

Well, last night, when I went to the link provided by Ihoboy, it showed the Fedora out in the channel with a pilot boat. Maybe they were just moving it around? Anyway, today, it's name is not on the list so who knows what's going on? Remember that London is 8 hours ahead of us on the West Coast, so yesterday at 10pm PST, it was already 6am Feb. 1 in London.

I just tried again Jerry and nothing so far. Maybe they are having some kind of mechanical trouble. I sure hope not. This is the third time I have been through this so I hope there is not much delay.

I see they haven't updated the arrival time yet. But I'm sure they will eventually. Dang!!!

Hopefully we'll have some action pretty soon.

Regards,

Pat

I found the Fedora (callsign SLKU): http://aprs.fi/?call=266259000&dt=12...timerange=3600

On it's way straight to NY. No stop in Halifax.

Here is the schedule. If I read this schedule correctly the ship goes to NY and then to California via the Panama canal. I didn't think the ship could said fast enough to make those dates. Wow.
Am I reading this correctly?

You are reading correctly. The Fedora is scheduled to reach Port Hueneme on February 22.

the next ship out of Southampton seems to the K-Line. In their shipping schedule, do I look at the "North Atlantic Shuttle Service" or the "West Bound (Trans Atlantic) Service"???

It's hard to get any info on the K-Line vessels. Perhaps your MA can tell you what vessel your car is on (also try 1-866-ask-MINI). With that info we can try to locate the vessel in the Southhampton harbor or on the open sea.

On what day was your MINI completed?(ask-MINI can tell you)

production was finished 1/30/09. Its current status is "Released to carrier and is awaiting transport to port of exit"

I'm guess it's still in the factory??

If it was released to the carrier, it is already on it's way to or already at the port. The owner's lounge info is usually 1 to 2 day behind. Call 1-866-ASK-MINI to find out what vessel you are on. They should be able to get that for you. Ultimate shipping time will depend on what ports it stops at. The Mignon and Otello stop in Halifax before they sail to NY. The Fedora is a straight shot to NY.

My car is also finished and has been waiting for transport for around a week now which is driving me crazy. When I spoke with my MA he told me that the cars sometimes have to wait until there is enough cars to fill the ship. Has this happened to anyone else?

I called ASK-MINI, and the automated status changed to: "Vehicle at port. Awaiting shipping." Or something along those lines.

miniguy5 - I guess we're gonna be on the same ship.

I just watched the Othello sail out of the first "Radar" sector on the East Coast (Canada), on it's way to the second one (Halifax)! The Mignon must be a bit closer, so it'll show up soon...Too cool!

I'll tell you my experience.
My wifes car and mine were completed the same day. Her's made the boat mine did not. It was another 7 days before it made another ship and this was at the beggining of December. I don't know what the wait is like now. If overall traffic is down it may be longer. It's really all about the timing. If traffic is WAAAY down it may be longer.

But you can typcailly get a schedule to see when the next boats leave. They stick pretty close to the schedule.

Pat
