I hear that it usually takes 2 weeks to get to the dealer if they aren't adding any parts at the port. In my case they're adding driving lamps and a strut brace, so that'll add a day or 2.

Hmm...do you mean 2 weeks to get from the US port to the dealer? That seems like a long time (considering how fast the car was built)? Or two weeks from when it ships until it gets to the dealer? I'm getting the Aero kit added (I think they said that was done at the dealer?) so I figure that will add another couple of days....

Unfortunately, 2 weeks from the time it arrives at the U.S. port. MINI takes a couple days to do a final inspection at their port facilities. Then it gets loaded on the auto-hauler. The 2 weeks might be an outside estimate by the dealer to give the dealer some breathing room.

Ah, thanks for the info. Bummer about the extra wait, but the whole process has been so fast I really shouldn't complain

My car completed production on the 24th and arrived at the port today (the 27th).

Unless there are any delays, I should take delivery in late February or early March.

I'm not sure. How do you find out which ship you're on?

1. Go to the MINI Owners Lounge https://ol.miniusa.com/ and set up an account. You will need to have the production number for the car which should be on your vehicle order confirmation, or you can get it from you salesperson.
2. Once you set up your account, you can go to https://ol.miniusa.com/auth/home.aspx and click on "Track Your MINI", and then on "Review Order Detail". That will show your entire order with factory options and the VIN number.
3. Go to http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/ and type your VIN into the Cargo ID box and hit the Track Button. That will give you all the info on the ship name and dates. you can click on the shpping number and see the vessel's route and schedule.
4. You can then go to http://www.ais-live.co.uk/AIS%20Live...uthampton.html and see the exact location of the ship by clicking on the ship name at the bottom of the page.

Mine finally is listed as "Awaiting Transport", even though the Otello is now showing in the middle of the Southampton Channel on the AIS site. Yesterday it was still docked. The Owner's Lounge info is obviously delayed by a day or two as the status is clearly "En Route". It looks like the Otello just departed about an hour ago as is appears to have travelled only about a mile an a half from its pier.

On a regular basis, I will update the link in the prior post to keep an eye on our little bundles of joy. The AIS site lost track of the Otello, so I had to use another source.

BMW-ca still lists me as "Released to carrier", but that means that it's still on the factory grounds (still be in production, which makes sense as I figure tomorrow is day 8 of production). Oh well, I'd rather I miss a ship or two rather than they rush the process.

Plug your VIN# into the WW site and see if it comes back with anything. Your car may be further along than your MA knows.

Looks like Otello's twin.

I don't get it...now BMW-ca is saying it's been loaded onto the vessel (which is good!), but "No Record Found" when I put my VIN into the ww site (under Cargo ID, even with a few % wildcards). Anyone know if any K-Line ships are departing Southampton yesterday or soon?

Seems that BMW-ca has even less info that the OL at MINIUSA.

Maybe I'm on the Otello too, flying blind; it stops in Halifax on 04-Feb.

Me too. This will be my third wait and it's getting old. The last time around it only took about 6 days for the car to get to Seattle from the time it landed.

I'm ready to take delivery of Fulburt.

I'll start watching it go across the Ocean on Monday.

Pat

If it was on the Otello or Fedora, it should have come up on the WW cargo site with the right VIN. PM me with the VIN and I'll try to find it for you.

BTW, where did you get the VIN? From the MA or from the Owner's Lounge?
