Greetings From New Owner (as of 9/26)

Hello Everyone. I am picking up a new MCS on Friday Sep 26 and wanted to introduce myself. I am a long time Z3/4 M roadster driver who recently purchased an 08 M-Coupe. It's an awsome car and my original intent was that it would be my daily driver. However, I've decided that I want to save all those miles as it is most likely a car I will keep for a long time. I've been admiring Mini's since introduced and finally decided to take the plunge. I found a new delaer stock car and is equiped as follows.

Model Code 0811 Cooper S
Color A59 Laser Blue metallic paint
Upholstery K8E1 Grey/Carbon Black Leatherette

Options
ZAH Anthracite headliner
ZCW Cold Weather Package
313 Power folding mirrors
314 Heated mirrors and washer jets
494 Heated front seats
ZPP Premium Package
403 Dual pane panoramic sunroof
534 Automatic air conditioning
6FD MINI HiFi sound system
1CA CO2 relevant vehicles
249 Multi-function steering wheel
254 Sports wood steering wheel
2RE 17" alloy wheels, web spoke
381 Roof in body color
4AA Anthracite headliner
4BB Color Line Pacific Blue
4BF Interior surface Brushed Alloy
Bluetooth and USB/iPod adapter
I am having the armrest installed as well. I wish it had the upgraded stereo but the six speaker set up seemed ok for now.

I look forward to hooking up with Mini Owners in the Northern Virginia area much as I have with the Z Series folks.

Congratulations. You might want to do a little searching on the forums regarding the armrest. There are quite a few people (me included) that feel the euro-spec armrest is a better way to go. Check out the audio forum also. The channel swap and speaker replacement threads are very good reads.

Thanks. I will look through the forum to get smart on the armrest. However, in the interest of saving time (since I can turn off the dealer install at this point) can someone quick tell me the difference? Can the Euro spec one be bought here in the states and is it easily installed?

The one the dealer is installing is not the OE one as seen on the Mini web site. I need to get some additional information about it for sure...

Check out this thread https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...hlight=armrest

Here is a link to a vendor that sells the armrest http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...h_storage.html

Additionally, this is a genuine MINI part and your dealer may stock it along with the smaller one.

Quick Photo

Got the car home last night about 11 PM... Here is a photo before I've had a chance to clean it after the dealers attempt to do so... Love the car so far. It's a worthy drive to save miles on my M Coupe...
