Hey KC contingent, we want pix!!! Between the 3 of you, somebody should be willing to share!

While taking a friend for a spin today, I was telling her about the great roads in the Hermann area, and how I hope to get back there. Those twisties were fun in my old minivan (pathetic as that sounds); they must be an absolute blast in a MINI! Any recommendations for roads in the KC area?

 

I have been driving around, check engine light and all, but will get some pics tomorrow. I have to go into work for a while and then will take some and post them.

I picked my baby up yesterday (200 miles there, 200 miles back - enough driving for one day) and after a night of fantastic sleep, woke up bright and early and drove it out to my mom's to show it off.

It is truly beautiful. I couldn't be more pleased with the color (lightning blue metallic). The way it shimmers when the sun hits it...wow!

The dealer threw in the rubber floor mats - is that typical?

My boyfriend had bought the same ones for me for part of my birthday gift and will have to try to sell them now. Ha.

LOVE the car. The long drive yesterday gave me a chance to learn where everything is - and to play with the iPod and Bluetooth stuff when my boyfriend was driving. I am going to be super spoiled with this car.

I apologize for not posting sooner, and I hope this works. We took delivery on Saturday and ride home was so good I told my wife, "Get packed... we are going on a roadtrip!" So I'm using some wi-fi to try and upload some pictures while on the road to share Hope it works!!!

Well it looks like I'm the last of the CH group to take delivery Rupert was ready for pickup Oct 7, but I was out of the country until late last night, so I will meet my new friend tomorrow afternoon at 1:30pm This is my third delivery since 2003, but I think I am more excited this time around than ever before. He won't be completely finished (will get racing stripes and window tint later), but that will be done, hopefully, before month's end.

Not quite last... I won't get mine until Tues or Weds. My MA went on vacation the day before my Clubman arrived at my dealership, which was last Sunday. So it's been sitting there for a week now, and it will be another two or three more days before she has time to 'deliver' it to me. I might have been able to push a bit and have someone else give me the keys, but she really didn't want me to do that (I suspect because then she'd have to split the commission.) So I'm still waiting a few more days.

Oh well, patience is a virtue, right?

 

At long last, 97 days after placing the order, I picked up my Clubman S tonight! Although it's only 8 miles from the dealer to home, my route was somewhat longer - more like 90 miles. So far, everything is great. No obvious gripes or annoyances. Drives great, had me smiling.

Quite a change for me; I've had my last car for 15 1/2 years.

It has to go in for a day next week; there's a scratch in one of the front racing stripes, and a scuff mark on the rear roof, but they should be able to fix those right up.

Wish I could take a few days off and head out on the open road, but duty calls. Oh well, plenty of roadtrips ahead.
