major bump

well, sadly to say Syd's poorly manufactured non functional bonnet scoop warped and melted from 7778k worth of turbo heat.. anyone else here using a heat shield?? I think these stage 1 JCW cars run hotter than the stock MCS.

(it's a warranty issue, so that's good, and the dealer approves heat shields.)

Tells ya, that craaaazy 30 mpg a/c'd road trip to Vegas may have done it....

Sorry to hear it. Mine's still doing a-ok, but I'm not riding mine like a maniac.

Yet.

Glad it's at least a warranty thing.

Congrats on keeping your baby so fresh! I am on my 2nd set of Summer tires, 3rd set of brakes (didn't replace the rotors on the second one) and over 43k miles! About to take it for oil change number 5 or 6, I lost count..

I just had to bring this thread back...since today is my MINI's two year anniversary.

Over 26,600 miles and counting. Time for some new tires, too.

Tearing up the tires in the twisties, eh? Heard 30,000 is about as high as you can go in the 15"-16" tires. 17"+ need to be replaced sooner.

I'm at 16,000 miles, and still love it. Seems like they are making some improvements to the 2011 models.

Only 12,000 miles here, but I have been traveling for work most of the past 2 years. I did have to 'reclaim' it back from the significant other after one of my longer trips as she decided on her own to 'adopt' it
