Funny: I just rec the xenons to some noob who asked about whether he should add them to his order. I told him that altho there were rare instances of having to change the bulb--there were more instances of those who opted for the halogens and now regret their decision.

Yeah, my night vision is slightly impaired after laser eye surgery last year, and it's especially noticeable with the current headlights. My Wrangler's lights cast a much better pool of light than the stock MINI lights. I'm looking in to swapping the stock bulbs out for Philips X-treme H7 bulbs since I've heard good things about those.

Mine seems to work fine. Just be sure to press the snowflake button (A/C). In other cars, this is activated by default when you press defrost/defog. Some people mistakenly confuse the snowflake button as only to be used for cooling the car, but when the temp is set to hot, it acts as a dehumidifier. It clears the windshield fast.

Now if you're talking about actually melting frost or ice on the windshield, then yes, the heater takes quite a while to warm up. Longer than usual actually, compared to other makes.

The Xenons are nice. Only need the fog lights when it's really nasty. The only negative with the xenons is the sharp cutoff. Regular headlights seem to have a more gradual fade and extend farther in the distance, even if they're half as bright. Xenons are better, but not perfect.

Next time your windshield fogs up, aim the air at the windshield full-blast. Wait about 10 seconds or so, just to prove that it's not helping anything. Now, press the snowflake button and watch the fog disappear in seconds. This works especially well in cold rain (35-45 degrees). Like I said, other car makes turn the A/C on automatically when you turn on the defroster. Try it out.

windshield wasnt so much the problem as were the side windows. another Nammer suggested to make sure the recirculation is turned off so the moisture in the car doesnt continue recirculating.

and my toyota mechanic told me it's recc to run the A/C in the winter, just to keep the system from drying out.

Crappers...I'm being told that the headlamps for the 2007+ are H13s rather than H7s. Hmmmm...

I'm now at about 1650 miles. I also have two brand new...pits in my windshield that happened at about 1450 miles. Not excited about that.

Well at least your car isn't at BMW waiting to have the transmission pulled because it is leaking.. Donkey now has about 1400 miles and is marking his territory. I now have a Justacooper as a loaner and miss my S like mad!

Man...at least you don't have to pay for it, but that blows hardcore. Sending you hopeful vibes. Run that loaner Cooper like it's never been run before.

haha, I found that I don't even like driving the normal cooper.. I would rather drive my Celica with less HP than the Justa .. I don't even know why.

DIG-man sorry to hear about yr Getrag going south. Getrag is in serious financial straits right now (just declared bankruptcy after their disastrous joint effort with Chrysler to develop a double-clutch-type auto) and it seems the QC has diminshed to nil. There are reports of other Nammers having to replace their Getrags under warranty after only a few miles.

good luck getting it sorted out.

DIG lemme tell ya: it may not seem like it, the 2nd gen justacooper is a HUGE improvement over the first gen! I hated those buzzy and slow cars, esp if they had the CVT. Craptacular!

I had them swap out the Justa with a 118d. It is a better drive than the justa but not the same as my S. The wife likes the 118 better than both coopers. :P

got mine last weekend...may have been delivered during the week, but i was on the road, so i don't know the exact day it arrived.

can't bring myself to use any of the contents though. i don't do stickers on my cars, inside or out. i don't do antennae *****, i don't care what's on 'em. i will prolly put the pen and pad in the glove box. don't even remember what else was in it. buncha flyer/pamphlet type excerpts from the user manuals i believe. and the "secret" decoder items for ads i never see.

Antenna ball! THAT'S what that thing was!! Seriously, I had no idea what it was. Wow. I feel kinda dumb.

sequence, I haven't gotten a survey, either. I did just get a 'happy new year' email from my MA today (form letter sort of thing, of course) asking me to let my friends and family know that Schomp is doing some good deals right now (why couldn't I have gotten one of those???). Ah, salesmen.

As a great man once said, Han Solo (from "Star Wars" fame for those uncultured among us) I believe..."No, no, NO. THIS one goes THERE, THAT one goes THERE.".
