Thanks.

I flip-flopped like crazy on the color choice. I'm not a black roof fan. Although some colors look good with a black roof, it would be too hot in the summer. The final three were MY/W, CR/W, and PS/PS. I went with PS because it's a classic color that I wouldn't grow out of over the years, even if it's a little boring next to everybody else's MINI. Now if PS/W was an option. Hmmm.

I've looked at the Wet Okoles, which sound very similar... I think I'm getting used to the leatherette (geez, what a name!) - and trying to fidgit less! But I suspect a set of these may be in Dory's future. I really like the look of the neoprene, and they would definitely add some color to the interior. Thanks for the tip!

THIS thurs or friday????????? how can that be??? Our cars have only been stateside 48 hours! Is Scotty beaming it over?

I know VDC prioritizes cars that are already sold (like ours) and processes the cars being trucked out long distances first (as opposed to local, sorry S CA folks), but this week?????? WOW.

Now you go me all wondering when MY call will come.

I called this morning right after your first post and my MA was in a meeting - he has not called back but I am going to go by the dealer this evening.

Ive not heard from mine, but I havent called--yet. But if/when wandrur the rhetoritician confirms his car will be delivered later this week "you betcha" I'll be on the phone.

I was also told that unlike 4 years ago, transports to distant cities are exclusive to that city, no more stopping off in Vegas or SLC or Phoenix or Albuwhatever on the way here. So maybe there was a truck waiting and our cars were literally loaded on Isolde last on/first off military-style high priority (after Galveston) and were sped thru vdc. god that would rock

It just still seems so soon here, has me completely at a loss, if this is true, that's fast. But then I also remember WtR's MA initially telling him Isolde would arrive 10/20--like it should have--so we'll see, as granny used to say.

(Or, after the canal Isolde had calm seas (faster transport) and made up a couple days to arrive at PH thurs or fri, and the internet site didnt show this. It's happened before. That'd be tres kewl.)

I spoke to my MA today and was told that my MINI will arrive in Portland on Sun, 11/2 and will be ready for p/u on Tues 11/4. Since I live 4 hours away, unfortunately I can't go pick him up until Fri 11/7 @ 9:00 a.m.!

That's great news! Sorry about your losing focus on the midterm and exam. Soon they will be done and it's off to go get your MINI!

I just went by the dealer and my Laser Blue MCS is due to arrive this Thursday, Oct 30 - thats the good news. The bad news is I have to go out of town and will not be back to Friday, Nov 7 so it will have to sit there for a week before I can pick it up - BUMMER!

Now I'm roping things together for insurance. Wasn't sure when it would be in, so I hadn't finalized anything yet...

So Is that fer sure that yr car will be ready this week? I have not heard from my MA but I did place a call with him this AM.

Also, save some dough for yr plates, prob around $500.

(BTW, the OL says my car is still at sea...)

The OL is drunk.

Just had an email exchange with my MA this morning, and he sounds pretty confident that Friday will be the day.

Yeah, I was curious about plates and registration. That hurts. But oh well.

Well, boo. Just got an email from my MA telling me that the port release has been set back because of a small nick in the paint on my door. Ah well. I'll still call it my Halloween MINI. Thinking of an appropriate name, too. Maybe.

Nope. "Small nick," but I'll give the whole thing I nice going-over before I sign my life away.

that sucks, but then if they're looking that close that's good. better for vdc to do this than the dealer. But Im confused: if yr MA said delivery later this week, will the car be here despite the port delay??

He called yesterday and said it should be ready by Friday, then responded today that they found a nick at the VDC, so...doubtful. :( But I'll remain hopeful.

Yep, I remember. Luckily I've always been prepared with enough dough in my account to pay registration. How long are temp tags--30 or 60 days? Or...?
