my MA left a message on my dead Crackberry yesterday, Syd made it thru VDC fine and will arrive at the Ralph Schomp new car prep and detail center on sat the 1st!! looks like delivery is imminent tues or weds! STOKED!

monday would be sweet but the prep center has to apply full clear bra and tint and a couple other things, so tues or weds seems more realistic. Im just glad my JCW stuff was backordered so 1) I can take delivery faster and 2) drive the car during break-in w/o JCW so I can compare the diff once installed.

scheduled to pick mine up sometime monday...finally arrived at the dealership late yesterday afternoon. got to see it today, but the accessories (driving lamps, chrome scoop, mudflaps) aren't installed yet. at least i know exists more than just on the web. i was beginning to wonder.

was supposed to arrive last week friday. it was a no show. dealership got 3 trucks in this week monday...still a no show. even the owner's lounge had it at the dealership before it arrived for 3 days plus. but i can't complain too much...went in today to fill out the paperwork so they could meet their monthly quota and got $500 discount, plus i sold my mx-6 to my ma for another $500...so i made $1k in a couple of hours.

and no anthracite headliner, so i'll get an iou for that.

 

Man MINI really dropped the ball on the Clubby AH's. Did yr dealer say they can replace it? If they can, make sure they also get the A trim peices as well.

 

dealer said this was fairly routine surgery for them. will do on the trim pieces.

what i found interesting is i got the $250 discount now, since the headliner is not included, and will get billed $250 once it arrives and is installed. dealer is going to charge mini for labor and miscellaneous costs associated with having to install the headliner for them. i got the impression that might include "booking shop time" flat fees that prevent the dealership from performing other business.

 

small correction, i actually made $1.25k in a couple of hours. the premium package came down in cost from $1250 to $1000 since the time i ordered it (08/25/2008). at first i thought the dealership made a $500 error in my favor, then checked the window sticker closer, and found $250 off the premium package and the $250 off for the missing headliner.

almost thought they goofed up the rear tail light lenses too, since they don't match, but after seeing several on the lot w/ the same non-matching tail lights, i fingered out the extra white light on the passenger side was the rear fog light. seems odd to only put it on one side...i know i'm going to be staring at that for the next 10 years wondering wtf...

 

bump. Delivery will either be weds or fri this week. depends how fast or slow Schomp can apply the clear bra and tint--or how many cars are in front of mine--they can be notoriously slow. I almost lost it in 04 when they took nearly a week to do this work, but at that time it was outsourced.

also, found out the CU they use for most of their financing just jumped their rates UP to nearly 5.8% for *preferred* borrowers; glad I locked in the 4.9 when I could.

 

jeez did everyone fall off the face O the Earth here am I the last man alive? wandrur?? WG?? are ye all still with me???

this is getting ridculous: week 41ers back E have already taken delivery!!

Thanks, but Im slowly losing it-- my dealer can be VERY slow prepping a car for delivery. They hire snails just for this purpose. soooo frustrating knowing my car is barely three miles away and there's nothing I can do....

 

I'm here, I'm here! Just found out my MA moved away. :( But then I found out that Lance is taking over my file, and I hear great things about him.

AND I heard that my MINI should arrive TODAY!!! Lance just called me to set up delivery later this week, probably some time between Thursday and Saturday, which works fantastically for me. Sweet. Very exciting.

 

I am still here. My MCS is at the dealer in Littleton, Colorado but I am working in Walnut Creek, California this week. They should have plenty of time to prep it before I get home!
