Pick up date? Hmmmm. Yet another obsession for the long list. OK, let's see. NY on the 10th. Figure VDC for two days but since the 10th is a Friday, maybe done by 10/14 or 10/15. Then the extras at the dealer. I didn't go too crazy. Mud flaps, stone guards, chrome filler cap. Nothing really exorbitant. I make it November 28. Just kidding. I think Oct. 20 is reasonable enough. Not sure what my dealer thinks is reasonable, though.

Any luck yet?

I think I'll stick with Sequence's estimate of Election Day or so for those of us in Colorado. I'm holding out hope for Halloween, though...

If Isolde can have a fast and sfae journey, arriving at SH 10/20. then yeah W the Rhetoritician maybe our cars will be at the 'ship by the 31st, but whether they will be ready is another question. Plus Isolde stopping in Galveston (prob to unload some Mercedes or Volvo trucks) is the wild card, that's why they estimate the 23rd. but like airline schedules, boat schedules tend to be conservative with lots of wriggle room for delays so we can only hope....

>sigh< I wish there was a BMW VDC in the Gulf, instead of Charleston... >sigh<

It would just be such a wonderful Halloween present, y'know? I love Halloween. And my birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, so it would be cool to come soon thereafter, too.

I'm just keep thinking of my Mini as a birthday present to myself and my son. We've birthdays in November which works out.

The boy will be 10 this year and knows that I'll be passing the car onto him when he turns 16. Sadly, he's not a gearhead (yet) and not as jazzed as I would have been.

Thinking about it, sure. Will I do it (bail, that is)? Not likely. It's just not the most fiscally responsible thing for me to do, though that hasn't stopped me in the past. But full time graduate school coupled with full time work coupled with dealing with the consequences of previously having full time graduate school for years and *not* having full time employment...y'know? But I can make it so long as I curtail my expenditures and watch myself.

I tried a few websites but I can't find it. I only found one site that covers the whole Atlantic but no Fedora and no Isolde. There are others for specific ports so we will have to wait until it gets close to Halifax.

Same to you, wandrur! The sun is shining and I'm trying to enjoy it...

I'd feel even better if I could find Little Blu...she seems to have dropped off everyone's radar. My MA knows nothing. Finally broke down and called ASK-MINI again, but all they can tell me is she was completed Sept 25 and arrived at the port on Sept 26. I remain hopeful that she's found her way onto a K-line vessel, bc WW has no knowledge of her. Just keep swimmin', Dory!

I think that for sanity's sake, I'm just going to have to stop checking. When they call me and say 'come pick her up!', it will be a lovely surprise, right??

Anyway, I'll continue to be happy for all of you who are tracking your little friends as they cross the sea... Please think good thoughts for me, too... Maybe I need to join the Week 40 thread??

Just heard via a phone call from my MA that my MINI "has hit the water", even though I already knew that. Always nice to hear from the guy, though!

OL had me "scheduled for production" when the Fedora had already left port. Now I'm "awaiting transport." Good thing WW is up to date.

Yeah, mine changed from "scheduled for production" on Wednesday, I think, and to "en route" overnight last night. Even though my ship left on Monday. Ha.

Yup, 4 door sedan Cooper. For myself, I don't like the Clubman. TOO big. (Yeah, an oxymoron: big Mini.) I did not see anything in the S that I really wanted to pay for. Just a Mini for me with a few enhancements.

Yea I didn't even test drive an S, I was already impressed with the acceleration of the justacooper, I didn't want to drive an S and then feel like I should have spent another 3k and put up w worse gas mileage. I did however, drive a clubman because it was the only one I could drive at the time, its like a mini-limo too expensive, and the visibility was much lower; the extra space is nice and those doors are cool. But the coupe was really what i wanted!!
