I had thought the same thing hemmingway, that our build week thread is not that populated compared to others. Maybe the rest of the build week 38 cars are going to other markets, or their soon-to-be owners haven't found out about NAM yet. Whatever the reason, we have each othewr to wait it out with!

Week 38'er here!

Just ordered today.

Slotted for week 38 production, delivery about 3-4 weeks after that. My justacooper is lightning blue/white with white bonnet stripes, sport seats, front fogs, xenons, mfsw, clear bra, mud flaps, and tint. I can't wait!!!!

Is it bad that I haven't even had it in my possession yet, and I'm already having withdrawals!

My wife had decided to nane the JCW Red Rover. Those of you who have been around for awhile will remember it as the name of a game kids played.

I feel our time is coming soon! I think we all should be hearing something this week, maybe a build date or a VIN for early next week. I bet they are secretly building our cars this week and won't let us know until next week! Post when you hear something, this is getting out of hand!

Yep, me too Jen. I called 1-866-ask-mini and talked to a human. The automated system said "no confirm date" but the customer service rep said i'm week 38! - hope she's right.

I'm excited! actually bouncing off the walls...

Jim at Ask Mini just told me that production has started on my clubman and I have a VIN! He estimated that it would "roll off the line" on Friday the 12th.

O.M.G. I am going to get this car after all.

Today I checked back with ASK MINI and they said our Clubman was scheduled for no later than week 38. No VIN until they start production. Last week they just said week 38. Maybe a little ahead of schedule?!?!

Yep, I (er, my MINI) was scheduled for a week 38 build. The date I'd written down (if only I could decipher my own writing . . .) was either the 13th or the 15th of September. So we're a bit ahead of the plan -- so far, at least. I asked for a status code, but was told "in production" was all he could say.

Excitement

I'm so excited, for both you and me! I called and they told me we were "locked in to Week 38" and build could start as early as this Friday, Sep 12. Of course, I'm going to start calling every day now.

btw - Went to the Magical Mystery Mini Tour in SF on Treasure Island. It was a blast, even with our invisible Mini. We spoke to a couple of Clubman owners who extolled the virtues of their babies. I also bought a couple of really small orange parking cones that say "Mini Parking Only" -- for when I bring my baby home. They're about 6" high. Okay, and I bought a couple of T-shirts and a program and ... I've got it bad ...

Plan gone bad!

This thread has destroyed my entire plan. I ordered my Mini on August 18th. My plan was to try and just forget about it until the dealer called to say it was in. I now see how hopeless that plan was. Each day I get more and more hyped up about it, and reading this thread only makes it worse.

My wife HTClubman also wanted to go in our invisible Clubman, scheduling did not work out, but I am sure we will be there next year. The waiting is killing us. I can now see why people are willing to pay over MSRP. We originally ordered from South Bay Mini with Feb 2009 prod date, we then put in an order with Mini of LV to get a week 40 production which is now week 38. This is so exciting. I am trying to hold off and not call Ask Mini until the end of the week. I feel like a stalker calling them all the time, it is just so hard to wait.

Same feeling here. I've got a funny noise coming from what might be my catalytic converter , and I'm just hoping I make it to delivery without having to make repairs on my old car << ... ambidextrously knocking on wood while typing ... >>.
