Actually, he doesn't always answer. I typically have to resend my requests to get a response from him... sometimes it helps to cc the internet sales manager...

Just spoke to MA - he said he's expecting delivery this Friday. There is a slim chance that it could be Thursday, but there is also the possibility that it could only arrive Saturday. It it comes in Friday, he's promised to let me pick up on Saturday. *fingers crossed*

Congratulations! Maybe I will be able to get mine this week also! It sure would be nice to have the whole weekend to MOTOR!

By the way, with that post we broke 100 posts for this thread. Big props to all of us who took the Southern Highway!

OL now says my Ozzy is at the VDC!

It also says that the expected delivery date is 8/8!

Could it be true?!?! I do have a couple of dealer installed option, so they must need time to get that done. I would be thrilled if the delivery is this weekend!

Mine says the same thing. I am really hoping for this weekend, but my MA said it will take 48-72 hours for the "paperwork" to arrive once they have the car (up from 48 hours a few days ago). He also said they don't do deliveries on weekends...

I am starting to think that they are out of cars on their lot, so they want to keep customer cars for at least a few days so they can show potential buyers what the various colors and options look like...

OL says mine is at VDC too! So hopefully not too much longer. Where do you see an expected delivery date, however?

**EDIT** Oh never mind, I see it. It says the same thing! When I spoke to my MA, he didn't mention anything about any paper work tho. Where are you taking delivery from, Pretzel?

I'm picking up in Peabody, Mass. They have been great aside from this latest delay in regards to the paperwork.

I'll give my MA a call so hopefully he can explain it to me...

Wierd, my estimated delivery date has changed to 8/6/08, which is yesterday! Does this mean it is already at the dealer? Anyone else have their date change on them?

Mine has not changed, still 8/8. I have read other posts which state the same scenario as yours. I did confirm with my MA (for what that's worth) that the Delivery Date on OL is the date it arrives at the dealership. Of course, in your scenario, it would make more sense if the status updated to "At your MINI dealer" and the date changed to yesterday.

Maybe tomorrow it will change to "At your MINI dealer"!

My MA said that if my MINI arrives on schedule (8/8) that may get delivery on 8/9... crossing fingers...

The forecast for the next few days is for rain, so I won't be too disappointed if delivery does not happen this weekend. My Ozzy is a convertible after all!

So I spoke with my MA. He said that the date on OL is the date the car arrives at the dealership. However, he also said that MINI does not send the title with the car.

Once MINI knows the car arrived safely at the dealer, they will FedEx the title... which adds 1-2 days to the process.

That would explain why I likely won't have my MINI until Monday or Tuesday, even though it should be at the dealer by Friday.

Like you said OO, the weather has been so unpleasant around New England, it probably does not make that much of a difference...

My MA called to tell me that they expecting delivery today! If it arrives today, I can pick it up tomorrow!

In order to get it tomorrow, though, I need to postpone the installation of the SportLink. If I wanted to receive it with the SporkLink, I would need to wait until Wednesday for delivery.

Despite my previous comment about the weather, I just couldn't put off picking it up until Wednesday. Maybe I should have offered to charge them a daily "Display" fee if I waited for delivery until Wednesday!

Thanks for the information, OO! I'll let you know if the status changes again. I'd call my MA, but he's off today and the other sales guys at the dealer dont seem as helpful.

Congrats! I don't blame you for taking it tomorrow. I would do the same thing. Besides, we have a chance of some sun later this weekend.

Best of luck, and make sure to post some pics as soon as you get your Ozzy home!

I guess maybe titles get Fed Exed to CT faster than to ME.

That must mean that in ME, it isn't FedEx, but FedExtra. I'd blame it on that guy that said "ya can’t get the-ah from he-ah".

Something sounds fishy....titles are issued by the state not MINI.

You are right, the title is issued by the state. The document they is called the Certificate of Origin, if memory serves. It is shipped seperately from the vehicle.

BTW, my MA just confirmed that theyreceived it today. Delivery will be tomorrow!!

My MA just gave me aquite on my trade. It was $2,000 less than Edmund's and Kelly's trade-in values. WTF?!?!? I told her that unless I get what it is worth, I won't take delivery until I sell it myself. Shouldn't take long to sell a hybrid at trade-in value to a private party.

Who do they think they are?

Is it a Prius hybrid or a Tahoe hybrid? That would make some difference... My wife and I looked at a Lexus 400h... but it didn't make much sense (as a hybrid)....

Nonetheless, if I didn't have everything taken care of by now, I would probably take a crappy deal just to get my car...

That's how they get you...

It is a 2002 Prius. Edmunds has a trade-in value of just over $8,000. Kelly has a trade-in value of just over $7800. Both are for "Good" condition, which I believe to be the conservative condition of my car based on what their guidelines are.

Their offer is $6,000, which they upped to $6500 after I complained.

It is really too bad that they will give up years of future service (I will take it to another MINI dealer for service) over their evident greed, given that this car is fully loaded, including the factory JCW package. I guess they just weren't making enough money off of me.

I told them I won't take delivery tomorrow and I will contact them when I sell my Prius.
