I am a tad concerned myself...

I had hoped that at least the status on the WW site would be updated to reflect that my car was unloaded.

What if they forgot it and left it on the boat for Charleston?!

Thanks, I didn't need to hear that!

I forgot about the WW site. Just checked and my status hasn't been updated either.

Haha...no, that is unlikely (i hope!) I'm sure the systems they use are not quite updated in real-time, especially seeing as how the OL still shows it is en route. Since it was delivered over a weekend, I suspect that it will be put into the various systems today and the statuses will be updated over night.

That actually makes me feel a little better. If all our status is the same, then most likely, everything is going according to plan.

I would have been more worried is some of us showed up as unloaded, and others didn't.

I doubt they would forget to unload a whole bunch of MINIs.

However, my experience had been that the WW site was closer to real time than OL or ASK MINI.

I am sure all us NY VDC MINIs are lined up together, having our passports checked, and whatnot.

I have no VDC installed options, so hope to be on my way within 2-3 days maximum.

Southern Highway is approaching Bmore. Any idea why there is a Bmore stop.....perhaps picking up cars.

It could very well be delivering cars for other manufacturers. I doubt the whole ship is filled with 3900 BMW/MINI products. I wouldn't be surprised if Daimler or VWAG had a distribution center in Baltimore.

Or perhaps she is loading U.S. Cars for Europe.

Has anyone being discharged at NYCPOA seen an update on WW?

Does it seem strange that the ship left two and a half days ago and the Cargo tracking doesn't reflect a change?

Do we really export cars to Europe? Especially ones that would be shipped from Baltimore?

No updates - on either the WW tracking or the OL :(

Has anyone heard from their MA yet?

Same here... no updates.

Left a VM for my MA yesterday to get a status, but I did not hear back. She did reply to two emails regarding other questions, though. My thought was that they did not have any more info at that point. She is out today, so I won't hear from her until tomorrow.

I am tempted to start plugging in VINs from the same Booking Number to see if any others have an updated status...

Random question (and i've seen it elsewhere on the forum, but I wanted to ask opinions here) - I know when I go in to pick up, the dealer is going to try and push extended warranty and maintenance programs on me. I was wondering what others here think about this? Or if they've had any experience with it already? What else can I expect the dealer to try and push on me? And what (if any) freebies, can I ask for?

You can buy comprehensive third party extended warranties down road at a significant savings. That is my plan.
Most dealers throw in free floor mats, key rings, hats. Just ask.

Thanks DMAC57! By the way, I was browsing some other threads and it seems like those on boats that arrived in the US a few days before us, haven't got their cars either. So it could still be a loooong wait.

I had an email from my MA yesterday and she asked if I had my financing all secured. I took that as a good sign. I am still hedging of a 8/7 debark at CHASN and at the dealer on 8/12 with a 8/14 delivery. Hope I haven't jinxed it.

I think VDC usually takes a minimum of 48 hours, and sometimes more depending on options which need to be installed, shipping damage, etc...

I am still keeping my fingers crossed for a Friday delivery.

My MA told me something interesting... he said that it takes 48 hours for the paperwork to arrive, once they have the car. Has anyone else heard of this?

OO, let me know if any of the other VINs are pulling up any info.

What options are VDC installed and what options are dealer installed?

I just checked the WW site again, and the details for my VIN say it has been discharged from the Southern Highway. The discharge date and time are 8/5/08 at 9:44 AM.

I just checked and mine says the same exact thing. I wonder if that means that the VDC finally checked in our cars, or that they have now been processed by VDC and are ready for trucking to dealers?

The SH left NY/NJ last weekend, so the MINIs couldn't have actually been discharged today.

Weird.

I've sent my MA yet another email, trying to see if maybe he knows the status...

I don't know how it works exactly, but I know driving lights, aero kits, sport stripes, and such can all be installed at the VDC. But as far as I know, they can be dealer installed as well... so I'm not clear on the distinction.

Mine too!

I think this is just indicates discharged from the ship... except that it left the ship on Saturday... Maybe it means discharged from the NYCPOA (NY Auto Terminal) to the BMW VDC.

Good point. If that is the case though, then there is probably little chance of picking up our MINIs this week... as they have to still go through VDC and shipping, plus time at the dealer.

Too bad...

You're lucky that your MA actually bothers to reply to your e-mails and phone calls!
