Welcome aboard tonik and Cliquot. You're just in time to enjoy some gambling and fine beverages... as we could hit US soil as early as tomorrow, and certainly this weekend.
Though my MINI had fun on its transatlantic cruise... it is starting to get a little rambunctious, and wants to come home.
Hi All! I'm another one of y'all - waiting for the Southern Highway to dock in NYC. My MCS is aboard that, and I can't wait for it to get here. I'm still trying to decide on a name for it. Any advice?
I got a Chilli Red MCS, hard-top. Requested a black roof, with black racing stripes. Splurged on the nav system, premium package, cold-weather package, and stability control.
I ordered 7/7, and was expecting a long wait. But when I talked to 1-866-Ask MINI, they said it was in transit already. Woohoo! How do I find out the day the car completed production?
No track on the Southern Highway quite yet. The PANYNJ doesn't seem to have any details on their web-site.

Welcome aboard, and congrats on the MINI.
As for the name... a lot of folks seem to go for British names. I always thought that really common names are funny for a MINI, like Bob or Dave, etc...

I was actually thinking Sally - but I was waiting to hear the voice on the NAV first. Maybe that will inspire me with a name
Yes, a day early! Too bad the NYC VDC didn't operate on the weekends... Now our MINIs will sit on the docks again for a couple of days. I am tempted to drive down there to see if I can spot it! It would be cool to see it being driven off the vessel!
Let us know when SH departs. I am wondering if she will stay in port for the evening and give the crew some liberty, or make way for Charleston as soon as she is done unloading?
A day early? The SH must have had all her sails out coming across the Atlantic.
Anyone Know if the SH has left NYC yet?
Unfortunately, I can't find any live tracking of Southern Highway. The Google Maps version of Vessel Tracker (which has a 24 hour delay) no longer shows her, so it appears she has departed. That said, the web version of Vessel Tracker, also delayed, shows her at dockside in NYC. SAIL-WX web site has never tracked her, to the best of my knowledge. SIITech.net currently isn't showing any vessels in NY.
I would suggest that you monitor the SIITECH.net site in Baltimore on the 4th (it scheduled to arrive on the 5th) in case it is a day ahead of schedule.
I haven't spoken to my MA yet about an estimated delivery date. I will give a call on Monday to see if they have any more information. I would be psyched to get it by the weekend! Crossing my fingers!
Anybody picking up their MINI in Nashville? My MA there said that once the cargo ship docks in Charleston it's less than a week. Holy *****! This is excruciating!
