That's a great looking car.....but you are NOT the last one. Still waiting on mine. Work is busy so I am not thinking about it too much.

One thing that I did want to take advantage of being one of the last is, did any of you get coverage for your Wheels or 100,000 mile warranty? Any information would be great, this is one of the last questions I have before I pick it up.

I believe that the extended warranty or service contract can be purchased anytime during your STANDARD warranty/service period. So you do not have to decide on that stuff at the time you pick up your car. The only exception may be the windshield insurance. That's it IIRC.

I didn't. I thought about the wheel one, but I would have to have 3 flat tires in 5 years for it to be worth it. I've only had 1 flat tire in 7 years of driving, so that didn't make sense. As my dad always said, if the dealers didn't make a buttload of money off of them, they wouldn't sell the plans.

Nice! I like the white roof, and Challenge spokes make me warm and fuzzy inside. Just make sure to get a good wheel brush, they're a bit of a pain to clean. I spent about 20-30 mins last night on mine.

Except when they offered it to me there were huge discounts for buying extended maintenance and warranty with the car instead of waiting until later. I expect to sell my car after 4 years so I wouldn't get back what I put in if I bought that, so it's not a good deal for me.

Week 32 Member List

After I posted last night, I realized that the list was just in random order. Sorry. My master copy is now alphabetized by NAM user name. I've received the first update via a PM. Keep them coming.

I will be out of town tomorrow through Monday, so no posts from me during that time. I will get through everything that comes in when I return and post an updated list of Week 32 members. I guess I should say that names for your cars are not required, so if you choose not to name the car (like RaceTripper), just let me know and I'll remove the ???? on the list.

I am still hoping we hear from sikimini and zouzouetmoi soon.

WOW Phantom, thanks for all the effort compiling the week 32 list!! Great Job!! (I *thought * about doing it - but it seemed overwhelming!! I didn't realize ZouZou was there too.

gbsim, no.. no iphone and I could kick myself for that!!! Don't know what I was thinking.... sigh.

finaddict - SHARP car!!! Feels so goo to finally have it in your hands!!

DenStep - CONGRATS!!!!! But no pictures!!! you know the rules!! POST SOME PICTURES!!

Plutch, keep busy - you have patience like my hubby!! Good for you!

Didn't get the tire plan either, didn't seem like it made sense to me either (based on exactly what Tu13es said).

Sikamini, Zouzou and anyone else without power - hope you all get restored soon!! Keeping this threasd alive so you'll have a lot to catch up on!!

mrwickham, your clear-bra issues with the mirrors sound the same as mine! I am not happy how they look. I also have to spots by the front small lights (fog lights??) where the clear-bra have a small gap, which has let dirt in and now looks like dirt spots!

Great car finaddict! Love the wheels

I got the tire insurance. It seemed like a good deal, no exclusions, covered rim damage and I figured would pay for itself with one flat since the runflats have to be replaced instead of repaired. The tire deal was only offered on the day of purchase so we felt the need to get that one. Actually they didn't offer it to us, but we had to ask and they seemed a bit surprised.

Will decide on the other coverage later, but we're thinking that Bernard may just be with us for 4 years or so.... I'm not too wild about the out of warranty issues esp with the dealerships being so few and far between.

I was surprised that my invisishield had mirror covers (actually just half the mirror) as I thought it was just the bumper and nose. I'm not too wild about the line across the mirror, so I may just take them off.

Glad to see all the Week 32er's finally getting their Minis. Thanks for the photos!

Great Week 32 List Phantom!

AND... My neighbor stopped by yesterday to say he ordered a new JCW. WOW, two Minis in the neighborhood - and next door to one-another no less! He came over last week to look at our S and said he liked it - and wanted to know our impressions? Of course you can imagine our reply...

Anyway, he said he had been thinking about a new JCW, but was not sure. We told him to check with our MA at StL Mini - and so he did. His new Dark Silver JCW is due in 10 weeks.

Good luck on the LSAT Bemmer! Luigi is probably the perfect antidote to college overload!

Bad day for Bernard yesterday. Had to bring our 12 year old JRT to a specialist in BR to see about a root canal. Mr. Biggs has ridden tens of thousands of miles since he was a pup, apparently the Mini was a bit of a rollercoaster ride for him and not like the trucks, and SUVs that he is used to.... We pulled into the parking lot after a 45 minute ride, he jumped off the passenger seat that I had covered with a towel to try and corral some of the white hair (but despite hair was now EVERYWHERE in the interior) down onto the passenger floor (which thanks to Mini/BMW's cheapness had no floormats yet) and THREW UP!

I don't know who was more surprised, me or him! I love the little fellow to pieces, so couldn't be upset but will now add a roll of paper towels to the trunk. My husband made the astute comment that had HE thrown up in my car, I probably wouldn't have been so understanding. And Yep he is right!!

Yikes! Sounds like someone needs some rubber floormats, ASAP!

I've been thinking about an "Official 2008 Week 32er" badge for my signature, so here it is. Now that I've created it, I thought I might get some decals or mag badges made. I'm going to do some research on the quantity/cost and I'll post what I learn.

Love the badge RoadTrip!!

gbsim, it was in your old car right!?? I would pretty much freak out if someone pet or human, threw up in it!!

We are going on a cruise in just a couple of weeks, so I have been out all day again!! Racking up the miles for sure - almost hit 800!!!

You know, I mentioned that I never have taken care of a car, but today - I learned another lesson. My husband came home with the 4Runner (it's a 2007) and it received purple bird dropping on the hood 2 days ago.... This afternoon he washed it off - and it's stained!!! I mean really, really stained! He worked and it was able to polish off, but it definitely shows in the clear-coat finish. I was reading on the detail forum about this just this morning, and how many do a 360 everyday... and I think I am going to get in the habit of that! Today - I came home and there was a love-bug on the front bumper... I would guess we might be just about ready to start love-bug season!!

RoadTrip,

I love it. I will incorporate into my signature when I have a chance. I bet this will make the week 23 folks sit up and take notice. They're worried about us catching up with them in posts anyway. LOL

Globalvet,

Thanks for posting, and welcome. Keep posting. We all want to see pictures of your new baby when you get her. I picked up the name, Lil Red, for the members list, too. Thanks.

My Daughter has runflats on her 335xi and on different occasions she's picked up nails in both the left and right rears. Local wheel and tire shops have repaired the tires with no continuing problems. They've told me that runflats can be repaired just like any other tire as long as the puncture in not directly in the sidewall. If that's the case the tire must be replaced.

Took delivery today at 3:00 pm MDT

Forty Eight mile drive home.

WOWZER

But there is a cavaet. On two different occasions my wife noticed, (she was driving behind me), puffs of grey smoke from the exhaust. On both occasions I was travelling about 70 mph. I must honestly admit . . . I'm a bit worried.

How do I add multiple pictures to my signature. I seem to only be able to add one. Would love to add the week 32 pic.

rtwerk - I remember specifically my MA telling me to expect what he called "white smoke" for the first few times I drove my car. Didn't explain why - just to expect it and not be concerned. Perhaps you should call your MA and ask him if he knows about this, if just for peace of mind. Hope it turns out to be non-issue. Let us know the outcome.
