The "voice" on the NUVI Nav can be changed. There are a variety of choices to choose from. The "voice" in the audio system . . . the one I call 'Bob" is another matter . . . I don't know if that voice can be changed.

My Mini FINALLY arrived at the dealership! Scheduled a vacation to pick it up here is a photo! Let me know what you guys think! Jarid at Rasmussen is going to put on the red mirror caps and I have an Alta 4" Stubby to throw on it.

PLUTCH, it's about freaking time. I love your choice of color, of course it's the same as mine. We both know the DS/W rules. Let's have a pic with the red mirror caps once they are installed. I swear, YOU must be the last of Week 32'rs to take delivery. CONGRATS on the new car. Do you have a name picked out?

Congrats Plutch! Red mirrors will look awesome esp with the red color line inside. Is it a vinyl wrap on the mirrors?

I love those wheels too! One of the things I wish I had done on Bernard.... I'm a horse rider and they remind me of horseshoes!

Lil Red Finally Arrived

Lil Red is finally here. It has been painful waiting and watching all other week 32'ers cars arrive and no car here. Picked her up yesterday, has been pouring down rain ever since so she's already a dirty mess. So far, have met or exceeded all expectations. Congrat's to all other week 32er's, glad to have finally joined the club of owners!

See gallery for pics.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I will pick it up on the 14th. I don't think I am going to name it, and I got the mirror caps painted at Minspeed.net. They did a great job, more pictures to come!

Nice clubbie! I especially like the carbon fiber hood scoop - no melting scoop worries for you...and it looks nice with the rest of the red/black theme. Congratulations on FINALLY getting your ride. Wow, what a wait.

Thanks Kecham8. Ordered in June, built in August, Delivered in October but well worth the wait. Looking forward to lots of motoring this week, did 150 miles the 1st 2 days, should get plenty more this week.

It's getting cold out. You know what that means....

CHECK YOUR TIRE PRESSURE! Mine was averaging about 32psi this morning (should be 38mpg). Whoops!

It only takes a few seconds to check and a few minutes if you need to add air. You'll extend the life of your tires if nothing else.

Congratulations Globalvet!!! (hmmm Veterinarian who practices around the world or military veteran who has been everywhere???) Hope the rain lets up for you so you can open the sunroof soon!

Now that we've all been driving for a while (except plutch and global vet! ....something to watch for.... check under your hood for more Cosmoline. I had the dealership go back and reclean under the hood since there were a lot of Cosmoline dribs and blobs underneath when I took delivery. I had looked one other time and seen nothing.

Yesterday when giving Bernard his weekly wash, I popped the hood to dry around under there and sure enough, more Cos had oozed out of some holes. Enough that it was really pooled in those last holes that then lead to the fenders. I had a little line/stain on one of the fenders, but think that I got it out. Cleaned inside the holes as good as I could, but I can tell that as the car heats, more will be oozing down. If I can catch it before it gets to the paint or plastic it would be better.

speaking of cosmoline, anyone get some on their paint? I had some drip out from my boot hatch onto my bumper, and I can't seem to remove it (don't want to scrub too hard).

Oh, and did my first wax on Sunday. 3 hours later, got my first bird bombing. Thank god they waited till AFTER the paint was protected. I was able to wipe it up before it set in.

One thing I'm noticing is Pollen drops from palm trees stain my white bonnet stripes, I think eventually I can buff them out, but they are there for a while. I'm gonna have to bread down and get a cover ASAP, I'm going mad!

Does anybody else make friends in parking lots? I always park in the furthest stalls to avoid dings, and a couple of times I've come back to find another mini parked next to me. I can't help but say "aw, how cute, you made a friend".

Got a question on the cosmoline - how do you get it off microfiber towels? I got some on a couple of the smaller towels and it does not seem to come off by the normal washing instructions for microfiber towels.

Keep posting!

Also I think there maybe a couple of streaks on one of Hilla's black trim pieces, I tried cleaning it with a quick detailing spray and it doesn't seem to do anything to it - any ideas?

Plutch and Glabalvet congrats and nice pics!

Hilla is barely over 650 miles, it's going to be forever before I can try that sport button!
Any comments on the difference in feel?

PS I received my MSB-8 the previous weekend and passed my M license exam yesterday! That's my excuse for being AWOL.

Sikamini, I read that Simple Green is good for getting it off the car in the hood area. So maybe it would work on the microfiber?

+1 on the peanut butter for streak removal. Also the Black Wow is amazing on the black trim. Got some with my bundle order from Detailers Paradise and am really pleased. Leaves the trim black (duh!) and nourished looking but not greasy/shiny. I followed the rec of someone on the detailing board and put it on with a round Kiwi shoe polish applicator.

Congratulations! I had to google find out what msb-8 and the M license exam were! For the rest of you non motorcycle riding Week 32er's it seems to be a motorcycle safety course and Texas motorcycle license.

Now re the Sport button.... there's nowhere in the owner's manual that says no sport button for 1200 miles. Go for it! Just keep a watch on your rpms.

Well, I'll just have to try it today very carefully!! Yep, I have a license, but no cycle yet. I figured I'd better see if I can even stay on one first.

I've found I have some areas that repeated uses of Black Wow (with a toothbrush, even) fail to take care of. Everything looks good until a day or two after and the white is back. I'll be trying the peanut butter soon.
