my MA seems to think that my JCW Aero kit is going to be installed at the DEALER. I was under the impression that they did that at the VDC in California. Can anyone confirm this?

I ordered a set of the cocomats from cocomats.com .... not that they would have helped with the Jack Russell carsickness problem too much.

My German Shepherd will be riding in the back with the seats folded down.... gosh, I hope I don't make her carsick!! she's got about 75 lbs on the Jack Russell.

My first impressions of the car, since picking the car up yesterday I have put almost 80 miles on it so I'm now an expert . I'm probably older than most on this board so I'm guessing I've owned and driven a few more cars than most. My all time favorite car was a 72 911S, IT was a kick to drive, made fun noises and corned like it was on rails untill the back end would kick out (911's are known for their understeer) The JCW is almost a clone of the early S just a little more comfortable. I've had several sports cars since the 72 'S' and nothing has matched it untill now. Even my wife likes it.

Man, stop looking at the boards for just one day and boom. I can't believe all the excitement that has gone on. Congrats to all the 32ers who now are getting the driving experience. Keep those pictures coming. How many are still waiting?

I purchased the rubber mats and they are perfect - 2 kids roughly = 1 dog in terms of mess. However, our Great Pyrennes would never fit in the MINI so no worries there.

My Clearbra issues still have not been resolved. The clearbra person wasn't able to come out to my job to work on the car, so tomorrow morning I'll just drop it by the dealership. They have been very good to me so I'm trusting this will sort itself out. As I've said earlier for the price they should/will be done perfectly - Don't settle for less it will just bug you forever.

Otherwise I'm loving the tinting. I'm hoping the weather holds up so this weekend I can get that coat of Epic on.

RoadTrip - very cool. Thanks for doing this. If you get stickers/decals made, I'm in!

how do you post the big pic

I am going to try and post a few pics of my MCS, but I can't get the pic big like the previous. Also, side issue, my side scuttle has water stains how do I clean and polish the plastic/chrome side scuttle if anyone knows?

THanks

I've been putting them in a photobucket page and then copying the link. There is a test forum for trying out posts and signatures that I found helpful too.

rtwerk, Beautiful car! I still can't believe how different everyone's cars are! I don't think we have two alike!

For those of you with the clearbra, do you have gaps where the paint is unprotected or is you entire area totally covered? Around the mini logo for example, mine touches the chrome wings on the right, but I've got 1/4" gap around the left. Same around the headlight rings. I was surprised at how many pieces it was in.

I'm trying the cocomats for something different. I've got rubber mats in all of other cars.... love weathertech for trucks where you are bringing in mud etc. Am hoping the cocomats show the dust less between washings.

Can't wait to get some Epic wax on this weekend. Wish me luck as Mr. Biggs the Jack Russell is riding back into the dentist this AM for his root canal!

I strongly recommend getting some Black Wow. It's expensive, but it lasts forever and really helps with the black trim. I'm still convinced it's the reason I was able to sell my previous car so easily.

I just wash my side scuttle normally with the rest of the car and use a little Hydro on it when I'm drying.

Thank you! There is another thread, I'm sure all of you have seen it, which contains posts of R56 photos. I looked through 150+ pages and did not find another MINI exactly like ours.

My clearbra fits just great. There are no gaps. My MA told me that the company they use uses laser cut pieces, there is no hand cutting on the car. This is the first auto I've owned with a clearbra, and I couldn't be happier.

I in-putted a couple of "dial names" into the BlueTooth iPhone setup. I'm not sure I'm real happy with it . . . . yet. The "voice" can't hear me unless I shout, and once the call is made I can't hear the other party as well as I thought I should. The system seems to be very similar to my daughters 335xi. But her car "voice" can hear me and it's much easier to carry on a conversation.

I'm off

rtwerk222 - gorgeous car! I picked up the name for the Member list.

Love RoadTrip's Week 32 badge. I've added it to my signature, and hope that was OK to do.

Those final west coast cars should be picked up in the next couple of days, so we are almost to the point where all week 32ers are motoring.

Sure would like to hear from sikimini and zouzou!

Have a great weekend everyone. I'll be back early next week.

rtwerk, WOW!! Nice car!! That was the color of my 'first' car I ordered, and canceled! It is amazing all our cars really are different! Regarding your bluetooth - mine phone linked up my address book, I didn't have to enter anything. If I add it to my phone, it gets updated in the car. I also posted in this forum a way to move the mic from the passanger side over to the driver side - very easy, 5 minute job and helps a lot!! As far as the volumn, make a call to someone and while talking, move the radio volume up on the steering wheel.. this will increase the phone too.

on the clear-bra, mine are laser cut too, and there are probably 1/8" gaps around the mini logo.

I agree with Tu13es on the Black Wow.. great stuff and great reviews. Expensive - but seems worth it!

rtwertk,
You'd think that the iphone would be automatic, but it is one of the ones that you have to manually/verbally add the voice inputs to and there are others. As far as volume, if you adjust the volume **** on the center console (and prob the wheel too) WHILE someone is speaking, it will remember that volume on the next call. Also if you seem to be maxed out, check your volume setting on your phone itself during the call. It seems that some phones have a bluetooth volume and the iphone for example will remember that volume level if you set it during a bluetooth call different from your other calls.

Using these tips, I've got mine where it sounds good, except for the very first ring which just about jolts me out of my seat it is so darn jarring and loud!

Can someone save me from getting out my owners manual and tell me if there is a way to make the ipod start back up when you restart the car? If I'm driving and listening to the radio or a CD then it picks up there when I restart, but if I'm listening to the ipod it defaults back to the radio after the car is turned off and I have to go through turning and pushing to get it back to the music I was listening to.... is Bernard having a mind of his own??

I was assuming that the dealership/BMW invisishield was lasercut.... but does anyone know for sure?

I'm really wondering how all of these edges are going to look in a few months when they get a line of dirt along them. Right now it looks fine and you really can only see it on close inspection. Except for the mirrors which are just like half shields.... do yours cover the whole mirror top too?

I may remove the mirror ones. Has anyone ever tried to get them off? Tips?

Everyone feel free to use my Week 32er badge if you like. A large 3" x 3" image can be found in my gallery. Regarding how to use it in the signature - I used photoshop to create one image that has our Mini and the Badge. I am not sure how to add it to the signature as a second image. If someone knows, please tell us.

I also did some preliminary research on decals/stickers. Looks like the quantities are pretty high. I may try to get a few made to see how they turn out, then tell everyone what I did and with what company. I'll post more when I find out.

Hope all you Week 32er's have a good weekend!

LOL, reminds me of high school. My best friend had a Datsun 240Z and he used to carry his Great Pyrennes in it all the time. Was hilarious to look at.

850 miles .. and I have a rattle/squeak!! Hope it works itself out.. it's on the side panel behind the passenger seat. It just started and if I push on it - it squeaks! I'm not worried a bit about it, it's not a biggy.

Re, decals, magnets, t-shirts and such... anyone can have them made at cafepress.com I have used them a bit and the stuff is decent.

Tinker - sorry to hear about your squeak/rattle.
The squeak emanating from the back seat release of Trooper is driving me nuts. I will need to spend some time tomorrow figuring out how to make it go away.

Here is what I'm going to try:

* WD40/lubricant on the latch mechanism moving parts.
* Some thin material - maybe an old sock or foamy material - to put in the latch mechanism to tighten the connection and prevent rattling.

At least I know where the noise is. Just looking for a short term solution to get by until I have time to go back to the dealership with this!

I welcome any other suggestions out there. Thanks.

Re: squeeks. My son had a BMW 325ci convertible with an awful squeek. I drove it one day after he had it for about 6 months and was about daffy by the end of the day. He thought he would just have to live with it, but the dealership fixed it and it never squeeked again. So it can be done!

I'm worn out! Dawn wash, clay bar, Epic, Nero, Black Wow, Clarity. All that is left is the Wheel Armor and I'll do that tomorrow. Phew! I took some pictures, but am too tired to fool with downloading them!

Hope everyone has a great weekend with some good driving weather!

Grace

LOL.. Grace, I know what you mean about being tired out!! It's a real job detailing!! Tomorrow Bernard will look his finest for his photo session!

I am sure the dealer will be about to fix both our squeaks. Mine is really just a little one and hear and there.. I wasn't at first sure I even heard it until I turned the radio all the way off and listened closely.

Still not a word from our Texas friends... hope they all get power soon. What a complete disruption of life... I am grateful Florida was spared, but sure wish nobody had to endure any of these storms!
