Good Luck today
Mrwickham!!

Still just smiling everytime
I look at my MINI!! Just loving it...!

gbsim, hoping Ike stays far away from ya!!

I had a little withdrawal here - my computer crashed yesterday!! Some
corrupted system file.. after hours of working on it, I was finally able to restore it! IE is not working too well, but Firefox seems to be doing the trick - so I'll stick with it!

I remember those days. Thank god I don't have to deal with that anymore, except occasionally when work requires.

Well, "Oxy" has made it and we are LOVING it! We had a little road trip this weekend right after we got the car - 3 hours out and 3 hours back. We headed down to a meeting I had (I'm on the Board of Directors for my university's Alumni Association) and it was a great trip, not to mention a great opportunity for a photo-op! Here's some shots I took. Our dog had to get in on the action, too - a Mini-Dog for a Mini-Car! He approves!

Here's a photo of my wife in her new MCS (Fergie). She's reading the manual and learning all the computer settings, etc.

Saturday we took Fergie for a ride through the twisty backroads out where we live, and I have to say, she's an awesome little hot rod. Got me to thinking I might need my own Mini...

Fergie got washed and detailed on Sunday and she's looking good, but it is supposed to rain today.

Oh well, at least my wife got to get into her new, clean and shinny MCS this morning for her trip to work.

Hm, planning on ordering the rubber boot mat and some oil filters from Classic MINI today. Trying to think of what else I could/should add to the order to save on shipping. Any ideas?

They offer ~20% discount on most things for being a NAM member. I already got mudflaps and front/rear rubber boot mats from them.

I'd get the license plate holders but I don't like chrome ones.

Also, MiniMania is not "Classic MINI", tinker. It's a MINI dealer which does a lot of accessory sales, gives a NAM discount, and has a few great guys who are involved.

Oh.. I wasn't sure! What IS the web address of Classic Mini? When I looked.. it pulled up a site with 'real' Classics

WhiteLightning, Great Color Choice!! Dog is pretty cute too!

RoadTrip2, Fergie is very nice!! If your wife lets you drive.. you're lucky!! Still hiding the secret start from my husband!

Phantom, Racetripper and Mrwickham: Don't forget the camera!

Tinker, I'm still laughing over your husband and the Mini being able to sense who you are!

Week 32 cars are all so handsome: Bondy is a brute and Whitelighnings pics are stunning!

RE ordering from Classic Mini.... I want to order the snapin adaptor for my phone as the dealership here didn't have a clue what I needed. Do you call or email? And this is a dumb question, but am I a "member" of NAM because I'm on the board is there something more to "joining"?

Grace (seems kind of weird to be gbsim...)

'08 Laser Blue/Silver Clubman S etc etc

Oh yes! I'm getting the checkered valve stem caps. I'm thinking about getting the cargo box for the back, but wish there was a checkered option (only UJ right now). I'm considering getting the magnetic rock guards. My Z3 has them and I like them.

I may have to wait until Wednesday to take delivery, so with getting work done (bra, tint, etc) after delivery, Friday will be the first day to enjoy it. Then Saturday is out because I teach Street Survival School. But I have the end of the month to look forward to. That's when I head out on a road trip to Road Atlanta.

Just got back from my first road trip w/ Stanley (MCS AB/AB). We went to Utica NY, which was a beautiful drive through the mountains. We are now officially past the break-in period! The car was great. One thing I did notice is that the other cars seemed to tailgate more. Annoying.
The best part of the trip was driving by a historic theatre in Utica called "the Stanley theatre". Of course I parked in front of the marquee (sp?) and took a picture! I'll post it soon.

The car is now in desparate need of a wash!

Alright Phantom! We're excited for you! Be sure to let us know how it goes and post photos!

I'm liking my MINI more and more. The ride's getting smoother and the squeaks are decreasing. I've put 350 miles on it in one week. How many miles for the break-in period?

So I've been having a lot of fun with my MC. It's just great... But I am having some issues that are unfortunate. There is a strange high pitch squeal that appears to be from the water pump, and I was advised to try to let it work itself out during the first couple thousand miles. The scuttle holders were damaged by some solvent during the dealer prep (they are replacing them tomorrow). And finally, and this is where someone on this thread can say "I told you so," I got two swirls in the clear coat on the passenger side rear quarter, so when the sun hits it in just the right spot, you see this psychedelic prism. I probably wouldn't have even noticed it on any previous car, but this whole MINI culture got to me. This is probably why there are initial quality problems with JD Powers, MINIs make people crazy. These are all hopefully correctable, though, and it's not like it's going to be pristine for very long, considering how much I'm motoring, but hey... I'm not too worried.

MWhinnery, I think I read it was 1500 miles, but it should be in the owners manual for sure.

Any one have any advice on daily wheel and tire maintenance? I noticed there is some very fine dust that accumulates on the rims. Does the Zaino work on the wheels, and what should I use on the tires? This is terrible I am turning into a neat freak!!!
