Hopefully be a Mini owner soon.

Hello, pending the sale of my 2002 Z28 Camaro i'll be ordering a Brand new 2008 Mini cooper S. It will be my first Brand new car and i'm a little nervous about it, i'll be able to pay almost half of it off instantly, but i'll have to finance the other 13-14k x_x. At 21 years old and doing school/work it will be a tall order.

I'll be picking and choosing my options and avoiding packages to keep the price as low as possible.

2008 Chili red (black roof) Mini cooper S (manuel 6spd)- $21850

Black hood strips- $100
Limited Slip diff- $500
Arm rest- $250
Anthracite headler- $250
Rooster red color line- $250
Leather multifunction wheel- $250
JCW Aero kit- $1595 (ouch)
Black Carpet Floor mats- $105
Ipod Adapter- $330 (WHY does this cost so much?!)

$25480 OMG, so expensive >.<

QUESTION!!! I've been reading the "1st gear forum" and i see these support groups, "Week 21 support group" for example, What does this mean!? The salesman told me it would take 4-6 weeks for my Mini to arrive, i can't wait 28 weeks >.<.

ALSO it seems to be customary to name your Mini cooper?

I think the iPod adapter is a special one. I believe there's an AUX jack of some sort that's standard. I don't have mine yet so I can't tell you for sure, but someone else here could probably confirm. It's not a ton, but saving a few hundred shouldn't hurt? Or might let you spend it elsewhere

I've also seen some complaints about the arm rest. You might consider looking into an aftermarket one. Should be relatively easy to put in and you can save the cash now when you're making the big outlay... Maybe some friends/family can chip in to get you a gift of it later

Week X support groups refer to the production week the cars are scheduled for.

Many people do choose to name their MINI. BMW certainly encourages the humanization of the MINI as part of it's character/appeal.

Congrats on your excellent choice I went without an armrest in mine and don't miss it. I don't have an iPod and just play CDs while motoring. Hope the time's not too long before you're motoring your sweet ride.

Thanks Alot, and theres aftermarket armrests? I'm new to the Mini community, i was realy in the market for a new Jetta or Civic SI sedan, but i live close to a Mini dealership and took one for a test drive and kinda fell inlove with it.

The "WEEK" Support Groups are for those whose MINI will be built in the corresponding week. I believe Week 26 is concluding and Week 27 starts Monday. Your MA will provide you the info on your build as will the Owner's Lounge

USB/Ipod Adapter adds a USB port that you can connect an Ipod or FAT32 formated MP3 player to. If you use an iPod having the special MINI Ipod cable with give you full use of your Ipod. For MP3 players no special cable is required.

Check out the Nav & Audio forum for more info.

Congrats on your order & Welcome to NAM!

I was at the dealership today, and the salesman informed me that the aero kit is 1595 PLUS 1100 installation and painting..WTF....i can't afford that, its made me rethink the whole mini deal, with that it puts my mini at over 27k out the door, to much for me.

I'm 21 too, and do that whole work/school thing too, so I know where you are coming from. I saved about a quarter of the price of the MINI over six months.

Was very worried about if I could really afford it or not - what was I getting myself into, etc.

It's very easy to go crazy, especially with all the options the MINI has to choose from. My splurge was upgrading to the Cooper S at the last minute, and the lounge leather seats. But it's a really great car, even without all those items, and I think I definitely still would have purchased a MINI whether it was the S or not, and whether it had the leather or cloth. I have had it for 9 days now and I absolutely LOVE it. Definitely don't regret it.

You can skip all the other stuff and still have an excellent ride. Get these:

Leather multifunction wheel- $250
Rear fog lights. - $100

When you are out of school you can get your second MINI, with everything
