I MISSED the boat - boohoo! My baby wasn't born until today, (the 4th) and is now finished and waiting transportation. I am reading the week 32 thread too (which I started posting on, but got bumped to week 31). I am confused though - which week IS my Mini - week 31 or 32? I noticed a couple others who are posting there - yet they were moved up too, and their Mini's are born.

Anyway - looks like I should get on the Independence sailing on the 9th. That's too bad.. the other car I ordered (and then cancelled) just 3 DAYS prior, is on a boat and will arrive in GA on the 14th!! The Independence won't make it until the 25th. I need to have patience!!

Your week is based on the day it was born, so if yours was born today you are a week 32.

well.. I don't know. The production started a week ago, on week 31 and finished today - the start of week 32. I really am week 31 as people over on week 32 are now just starting. I guess they overlap a lot..? oh well, it's not an issue and she is done - that's the main thing!!

Looks like my MINI didn't make it onto the Elektra. I guess that means it will be on the Independence leaving Southampton the 9th. If that's the case, it's been sitting there in the dusty ol' port since the 30th. Or maybe it got onto a K-Line...no way of knowing I guess.

Check with your MA he/she can tell you if it is on a K-line ship. Cheers

Yeah, my MA is nice, but not too informative. I might give it a try though. Thanks.

Hey, don't give up hope yet. The Elektra isn't scheduled to depart until the 5th, which is tomorrow. If you aren't showing up in WW's tracking by 5:00pm tomorrow, then it's safe to say you didn't make it.

Reldieh, I am showing that ship departs 8/4/2008 - TODAY! Are you looking at something else or have more info then what they are showing on their website?

Give up all hope on the Elektra.. just looking at their website again and it is in "red" meaning it has set sail already. Let's hope we all get on the Independence II on the 9th! That's just 5 more days... It also looks like it is taking an extra day to get to GA though.. I need more patience!!!

Pretty sure that the Elektra already departed. The next WW ship leaving is the Independence II on 8/9.

I'm a little confused, where are you seeing that the Elektra doesn't leave until tomorrow? According to this schedule, it leaves (left) today (Aug. 4th) http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...pe=generatePDF

Also, if you look at the ship tracking site: http://www.ais-live.co.uk/AIS%20Live...uthampton.html

You'll see that the Elektra has moved south of the UK and well into open waters since I checked on it earlier today. I didn't make it on, so am waiting now for either the Western Highway on Aug. 8th or the Independence II on Aug. 9th.

Ahh, I wasn't looking at the website. I had their schedule that was current "as of July 25th".

So, you're right, the Elektra has already set sail.

How awful.

Hi everyone, how do you tell which ports the K-line ships go to? I am in Ca, and the next WW ship (the Maersk Wind) that comes over here doesn't leave until the 13th. I am hoping there is one before that!!! My baby was born Aug 1st, and is awaiting transport!!!

I've decided that I'll just be surprised if mine makes it on within a week or so. Decided this that I want the driving lights and so called my MA and on his advice, I'm having the driving lights installed at the VDC instead of at the dealership. He said that would add about 3-4 days there!!

Well they had quoted me 6-8 weeks and it has only been 10 days, so I'll just let my Mini work on it's tan on the docks and let the paint cure and the cosmoline that I've been reading about drip off!!

gbsim. gee... I really would kinda like those rally lights too. I am on the fence with it -- same with the bonnet/boot stripes, but if I am to get the rally lights - I better do so quick!

I was quoted 4 weeks... first 2 cars (I cancelled) are going to most likely make that, but my car is going to be 5+ weeks.

Oh noooooooo. Now I'm sad again. Five more days is a long time to wait in the port. I've been sitting there since the 30th. Of course, it may be on a ship and heading this way already...who knows? Guess I'll find out soon enough.

I love the look of the extra lights and the stripes. According to my MA, he feels more comfortable with having the lights installed at the VDC if there is a choice. He said that they were the people who trained the installers at the dealership and they were the real pros. So if you know ahead of time, in his opinion, get the stripes and lights done there.... plus it was a little cheaper than the dealership labor rate.

Looks like most of us are playing the waiting game at the dock. When I called the dealership today, they said that sometimes the production goes faster than the boat space availablility and you get a situation like we're experiencing where they sit and wait for an empty slot on the boat!
I think I'll start reading the owner's manual online!

The K-Line doesn't go to Port Hueneme, or anywhere on the west coast for that matter.
So, unfortunately you will have to wait for WWs ship. But, the plus side is you'll have full tracking capabilities with WW, whereas with K-Line, you'll have none.

Good luck on catching that next ship!

I just got an e-mail from my MA telling me that my MINI that finished production on July 28th actually got on the boat Sierra Nevada Highway that left Southhampton on Friday. He explained that sometimes even there information is delayed because my MINI was still showing that it was at the port yesterday. Maybe some of you are in the same situation.

Only if you are on a K-Line ship. WW ships have the web tracking where you can input the VIN and see if it's on a ship or not. Since they get scanned before they're even boarded it's pretty accurate.
