I'm not getting anything from my MA either. Bummer. Would be cool to have.

 

So what's the word? Anyone heard from their MA's? I haven't received a call yet. I expect one any day now. No change on OL either. It's still showing "En Route" although it's been 5 days since it arrived in Charleston. These last few days are killer.

I got the message from Mini USA yesterday asking how I wanted it configured. Found out today expect shipping on 8/23 and at dealer on 8/28 so its getting close.

 

And still I have received squat.

OL changed to "At VDC" on Tuesday (It's been there since the 15th). Also showed an "Estimated Delivery Date" of August 23rd. I checked this morning and EDD has changed to the 22nd! Getting closer now. Anybody else with EDD yet?

 

Yep. The OL updated on Sunday to say it was at the VDC, with an EDD of 8/22/2008. My MA said I might be able to pick it up on Saturday.

 

My car arrived at the VDC on 8/14 and my MA told me it was scheduled to be shipped on 8/20 and I'd be able to pick it up this Saturday. I received a call today saying it still hasn't shipped. My EDD on OL says 8/23. Not sure how much stock I'd put in that number.

 

My est Del Date was 8/28 then changed to 8/26. It will ship on the 24th. Getting close. We're lucky we came through CHS as the west coast is swamped with stipes to apply and in fact the VDC is in the process of getting more crews in to apply them. This info came from Mgr of Neillo in Sacramento to my Dad who is waiting for his. In fact his del date was backed up to Sept. 6th. initial date was Aug 17th.

Ok, well I guess I can nix getting my MINI this weekend.

Earlier today my MA told me my delivery was changed to 8/24.

I just checked the OL (out of habit) and the EDD has changed to 8/24.

Dammit.

I've all but ordered my wheels (still price shopping), I have a tentative appointment for my tint, and I'm having a custom roof graphic made. Not to mention the myriad of other small things I'm in the process of getting. Everything is pretty much in place- except my MINI. It's not in my driveway.

Oh well, it's cool- at least I know I will have it before Labor Day, and that's all I really wanted.

Naw, I'm lying. It's not cool. I'm pouting like a toddler.

 

Hi guys, week 32'er popping in here. Does the Estimated Delivery Date on OL refer to when it gets delivered to the dealer? Or is it so inaccurate that it's just not worth looking at?

 

In my case it was extremely inaccurate. I had already picked up my MINI when the site said it was at the VDC.

 

We are scheduled to pick our MCS today at 3pm!

Tu13es, I think the EDD gives you a good idea of when it will arrive at the dealer. Keep checking the EDD because they do seem to update it.

Picked up the car Friday. Spent only about 30 minutes to take care of the paperwork and go over the car. It was a really good experience! Thank you MINI of Dallas. We left there about 4pm and dealt with Friday rush hour traffic. So we did'nt get to fully enjoy the first ride.

But yesterday however was a different story! Wow! Lots of fun. It's really hard to do any kind of break in with this car. It's plenty quick but the where it shines is in the handling. It really makes taking right turns entertaining. But I'm sure everyone knows all of this. Here are a few pics.

 

VERY nice! Congrats both for getting your car and for also getting out of your dealership so quickly! I'm psychologically preparing for the barrage of FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) filled conversations about extended warranties, etc. when I pick mine up a few weeks from now. I think you are one of the lucky ones to get out quickly!

 

My experience was similar - very low pressure pitch on the extended warranties. I did go with the extended maintenance option, mostly because I know I'm going to keep this thing for a while. But I knew that before I went in for my pickup. My finance guy mentioned the other options, I said I wasn't interested and that was the end of it. Very easy.

I'm between weeks 31 and 32 so have been crossposting, but am scheduled for pickup on Sat! I'm probably going to be smiling in my sleep all week!

Well an update sort of, my mini last two vin#29 is still at VDC with no date for release and a another mini last two vin #30 is already at the dealer ready for sale. In another post with week 29 group there was some question if MINI USA was slowing delivery of sold vehicles to rush out unsold vehicles. The two I mentioned are identical except for color, mine had a priority status of 1, the other is unsold with a priority status of 3. The vin # are sequential as I have checked and the only answer I get is "Oh well". I'm still looking forward to getting my new JCW but this has put a damper on the fun. Anyone else experienceing similar delivery or lack there of.

 

I made arrangements with my MA to pick my MINI on 8/24 and then on 8/25 but those days came and went without my MINI. I'm getting frustrated that my MA keeps setting up days but then no MINI. My car reached Charlston on 8/14 and I have no idea what is taking so long. If I don't get it by Friday then I'm going to go nuts.

I hope what you mentioned above is not true regarding them holding delivery of cars people ordered. If I found out that was true and my car didn't arrive by this weekend, I would be tempted (not sure if I would actually do it) to take my $32k elsewhere.

I hate waiting.
