So... I finally called ASK MINI.

The automated system said there is still no production date, but when I spoke with a live representative, she informed me that production had started, and I am scheduled for completion on July 20th!!! Yeay!!

Samart, I'm sure your status will change on the site anytime, but in the meantime it may help to speak with someone at MINI.

As for me, I'm not sure if maybe I should move on over to the week 29 board...

Holy Crap!!! Just called 1-866-ASK-MINI, and mine is in production and should be completed on July 16.

Pretzel and Samart, get your production number and call.

Come on over to week 29 Kefour and Pretzel. I had a hunch you guys are not really week 31 since people are saying the factory goes into some maintenance mode for a couple weeks in July.

Yeah Samart, I feel bad that now you're all alone in the week 31 group. I thought that maybe we all got bumped up to week 29...

Called Ask-MINI Monday to see if I was bumped also. No go for me. Still Week 31. It still aggravates me a little to read other members ordering 7-10 days after me and getting built already. Oh well.

What's curious though is the 2 weeks of shutdown in July. You guys are Week 29. I'm Week 31. Now there's a thread for Week 30. Makes me really consider waiting another few weeks for a 2009. Hmm.

I called them again today and they assured me for the fourth time that I am indeed in week 30, so I think it is for real. I thought about waiting for a 2009 also, but all reports are that my astro black will be replaced with a non-metallic black.

You can build an '09 Mini on the website now and the Astro Black is still on there.

I rebuilt mine and it was $750 more. They changed the packages. If you order the premium package, you no longer get the Hi-Fi stereo but you get the multi-function steering wheel (MFSW). The convenience package no longer includes the armrest or MFSW. The packages are now $1,250 vs. $1,500 though.

Sport package is not available until Dec.

After contemplating on a 2009 we're going to stick with the 2008. Only one more week until production starts anyway. I'm happy for you Week 29ers and you too NSX. Thanks for stopping by the thread and keeping a lonely guy company.

Samart,
You're not alone...

I ordered my '08 MCS through Military Car Sales here in Germany the first week of June and am told that it is scheduled to be built the first week of Aug. Unfortunately, Mini USA doesn't track overseas sales, and build dates on their website. I even gave them a call but no luck. My dealer put in a request to expedite my build so we'll see what happens. On the plus side, it should only take a week or so to get here from Oxford. Other than that, it seems that I'm still waiting the same 8-10 weeks that many folks in the states are suffering through.

Here in Bavaria you see Mini's everywhere...at least 5-10/day just driving through town and many more on the Autobahn. So...I think I'll be in good company when it arrives. Until then, I'll hang out here with you and all the other "Week 31ers."

Tank

Hi Tank! I guess its you and I here until other Week 31 members come crawling out of the woodwork. One more week until production! Too bad you couldn't pick it up in England and drive it back. That would be a fun trip!

Samart,
I really hate to disappoint you...but I checked with my sales guy today and it turns out I'm actually a "Week 32 guy."

My original build was scheduled for Week 34, but was bumped up a couple weeks. I'm off to find another thread...but I may be back if I get bumped up again.

Good luck....

Tank

LMAO! Maybe I should change my NAM name to PLAGUE. Or maybe Week 31 doesn't really exist? My MA at MINI of Dallas took my deposit and is laughing hysterically!

Hi Plague! That's funny.

Don't feel so bad. I missed the boat leaving for NYC today, so my car will sit at the docks for 10 days, until the next boat for NYC on July 31... if I can catch that one at least.

So, getting bumped up in the build doesn't help all that much, if your car is just going to sit there, with seagulls flying above and whatnot...

Well, I might be in this group, although I'm still a bit confused as to which week is which. :P

My MY JustaCooper, with it's 2 options (Fog lights front and rear), is scheduled to complete production on Jul 28.

Sooo, I have five or six weeks of waiting, and deciding the "Lease or Buy" dilemna.

I just called ASK MINI and actually talked with a representative rather than listening to the automated message and found out that my MINI is production week 31. It's scheduled to be done with production on July 28th and I also received the VIN number. The OL website is really behind because is still shows "on order". I'm very excited. I'm so curious when it will finally arrive at MINI of Dallas.

Sorry to hear that Pretzel. Hopefully they put that white wrap over the car while its waiting.

I'm pretty sure you're with me in Week 31 KoopaTroopa. Congrats on your order!

Hi bruleto! After reading your post I called Ask-MINI this morning and it's finally "In Production"! It's scheduled to be finished on July 28th also. I wonder if we'll get ours the same day?

I have come to learn it is all about dealer allotment and not based on who ordered when. There are people who ordered after me that already have their MINI.

Will your Mini go through the east or west coast, Bruleto?

Mines West Coast, and I've been told "around a month" between it finishing production, and arriving at my dealer near Seattle.

KoopaTroopa, I'm not sure which coast it will go through. I imagine the east coast. I'll call back tomorrow and see if the can give me that information.

This whole process is really a double-edged sword...it's great to have the ability to completely customize a vehicle but the wait is awful...we're so used to instant gratification.

MINI's coming to Texas will go to the VDC in Charleston, SC. I'd say about a 3 week wait after production completes.

Not sure if I'm in the right build week. The website says "On Order", but the ASK MINI automated system says "scheduled for production" with no confirmed completion date. Tomorrow I'm calling for a person to solve this. I ordered on 7/12, which makes me think I'm behind you guys, but week 32 is filled with 09 orders...and I know I'm one of the last 08's. hmmmm....

I can't wait for this all to be over. I'm impatient as it is...but add the stress of selling my old car then there's financing...and then insurance. I'm sure I will forget all my troubles when my mini arrives...but for now...

We ordered our MINI on June 26. And we got the same response for about 2.5 weeks. The OL website won't change until you get "Scheduled for production with your completion date" from the Ask-MINI automated system. If you want almost up-to-date info the Ask-MINI automated system will be ahead of the OL by about a day or 2.

Your production week might be 31 or 32. We've been Week 31 for about 3 weeks. But it seems production has started between Week 30 and 31. In other words your car may be built any day now!
