Picked up my Coop on Saturday.
Having a great time but can't wait to take a nice long ride. Had local stuff to do yesterday and today. Next weekend for sure!

I had to make myself not call the dealer today. I'll give my MA until lunch tomorrow then I'll call and see what's up.

 

Hey Tex,

Went to the dealership today as I just happened to be passing by (this is where you all say - yeah right). Several Clubmans and a number of Coupes. Nothing in laser blue though. The MA says mine was loaded on a truck and left the VDC on Friday. That's a one day turn-around. She says it will be at the dealership most likely tomorrow.

While I was there she introduced me to the finance manager as I was interested to hear about the extended maintenance and warranty. While it wasn't a hard sell, they want a lot for these extensions. For the extended maintenance, 3 years 100K, he reduced it to 1895. The included maintenance is 3 yrs 36K, so the extension covers an additional 3 yrs up to 100K. I have seen here on NAM that others are getting the same thing for 1400-1500. They wanted a reduced 2661 for the extended warranty which would cover an addition 3 yrs up to 100K.

Just thought I would pass this along in case anyone else is considering. If anyone else has been quoted better numbers, do pass them along.

 

I went to spy on my mini dealership today, just to see all the cars on the lot, see if I might be able to spot mine if it arrived yet and they didnt tell me till its done. No luck still not here I had a chat with my MA too when I spoted her, now my mom wants a regular mini for herself

 

I was very tempted to do the same. . . but managed to resist. I'm arranging my financing (going through Houston Federal Credit Union and they seem to have pretty good rates) and had to speak with my MA regarding docs. He mentioned the load of cars, but called later to say Bob wasn't there. He inidicated we would speak today (Wednesday) so I'm a hopin' I'll be motoring tomorrow!

 

Spoke to my MA today, as the OL had predicted delivery to the dealer yesterday, and

It was delivered last night. Stripes already installed, mudflaps going on, waiting on FedEx to see if the JCW shift **** has gotten there. GTG for a Thursday delivery

Called my MA today and was told that my MINI would be delivered around noon-ish. I made an appointment to go down tomorrow afternoon to sort out the paperwork and take it home.

After a month and a half of waiting, after countless times hitting "Refresh" on the online tracking thingy, by this time tomorrow I'll be motoring through the streets!

I'll be sure to wave.

 

I'm right in the middle with you guys! My MA thinks my Mini (yet to be named) will arrive tonight. I should be able to begin motoring Thursday. I have to drive 1.5 hours to Memphis to pick her up, but it is so worth the drive! I'm dropping my blazer off at a chevy dealership for work so I can motor my way home. finalized financing today with my bank and everything is good to go! The only thing (which is oh so minor) is I may have to wait to get the sun roof graphic put on later. I ordered the US-UJ solid sunroof only graphic from cooper flags (cooperflags.com) and MA is checking to see if it needs to be trimmed before the application process. If it does need to be trimmed, then I may have to wait a week to have it applied. No worry, will have it applied later then. The graphic is super cool and I'm also going to leave the lot with two motoring badges as well (also from Cooper Flags), "bend the rules, Rule the bends" with a symbol for curves up ahead and "go green reduce, reuse, recycle". I'm a little environmentalist! Anyway, can't say how excited I am.

Bah, you're so lucky. I went to get mine yesterday and it turns out that it got bumped. It's now scheduled to arrive sometime Friday.

 

Well mine still seems to be in limbo. My MA claimed originally the car left the VDC last Friday, but that can't be correct. OL at that time was reporting estimated delivery yesterday. Now OL says estimated delivery is tomorrow. I go on vacation for 10 days tomorrow (the car was originally not supposed to be here until late Aug). To top it off I went to dinner with the wife and son last night. As were getting on the freeway, a brand new paper plated sparkling silver clubman with black center racing stripes goes by. Oh this is torture.

Congrats to you all! Maggie Mae is resting comfortably in my driveway now after her 120mi ride home! We are detailing her Fri/Sat and will take her out for a photo shoot Saturday. I am putting together her website and will share the link on Sunday. I'll throw a few pics in gallery too.

I can't stop looking at this car! I know we've heard it a million times, but it really is the coolest looking car on the road. In just the 3 days, we have had about 6 strangers come up and comment. I got my first Mini to Mini wave last night, it was so fun!

I'll post observations and photos soon.

 

I know what you mean. At work we have an underground parking lot and an above ground lot. I used to park in the underground lot to keep the car out of the weather. This week since I got my mini I park in the above ground lot so that I can look out of my fifth floor window at it. I park in the far corner of the lot and get angry when I see that someone has parked next to me. Is this wrong?

 

picked up my car today, then my dad took it from the dealership home cause I went right to work :( just got to drive it for the first time a few mins ago, first time driving a manual, great smell of burnt rubber, possible burnt clutch and that new car smoke smell from the exhaust

Day 2 of practice tomorrow, got to perfect starting and stopping, all in between went well today. Pics soon to dark atm
